In 2008 the NPP made a vey magnanimous gesture.
The history of the UP tradition cannot be complete without the story of how a certain Mumuni Bawumia betrayed the tradition for a morsel of post.
His act of perfidy and treachery could have killed the great elephant in infancy.
Our political history is replete with tales of how the subsequent snitching by this same Mumuni Bawumia who is actually nick named ‘Maggi Cube’ led to the breaking of the front of the leadership of the UP as most of them had to flee for their dear lives by going into exile.
Indeed JB Danquah lost his life in prison and Chief D***o lost his liberty as he was incarcerated for a long time.
Mumuni Bawumia subsequently was a stalwart of the NDC and was the chief adviser of Chairman Rawlings.
Inspite of his legacy of treachery or perfidy and betrayal the NPP took the son of Mumuni Bawumia from political obscurity and gave him the enviable position of the Running mate.
Today Mahamudu Bawumia is the Vice President of Ghana by that simple yet Magnanimous Act of forgiveness.
You would have thought that after this great gesture Mahamudu aka Alhaji would show some wisdom and say Thank you NPP am eternally grateful for your kindest of gesture let me retire together with the President.
He has not done that instead Alhaji is attempting to destroy the party that has given him everything by waging an unprecedented tribal and religious campaign.
Who says make me President because am a Northner?
Anyway!!!!
We have brought in the son of the betrayer and it’s so clear the Apple did not fall far from the tree.
My only joy is that his attempt to destroy the tradition would be resisted successfully with all our might.
