FOLLOW WHOLLY II. What are you zealous for?

But it is GOOD to be ZEALOUSLY affected always in a GOOD THING,...
(Gal 4:18 KJV)

Whatever you follow wholly (wholeheartedly), is because of a deep affection and it makes you devoted. This ARDENT LOVE SHOWS IN WHAT YOU DO, YOU BECOME ZEALOUS!. A zealous person burns with zeal, is passionate, fervent or enthusiastic.

You can be ZEALOUS IN A BAD THING as much as YOU CAN IN A GOOD THING. If your whole heart is in a good thing, you will be zealous for it. You will ADVERTISE, INVITE OR INTRODUCE OTHERS TO IT, FIGHT TO DEFEND IT. THUS, YOU WILL DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO ADVANCE IT.

Apostle Paul once had a zeal that persecuted the Church because of where his heart was.(Phil 3:6) When he became converted, he followed God wholly, being zealous now in a good thing. He became a fool for Christ (1 Cor 4:10). We have been REDEEMED TO BE ZEALOUS OF GOOD WORKS. (Titus 2:14)

It's not difficult to see the zeal (enthusiasm) of devoted football fans. You see THEIR ZEAL IN WHAT THEY SAY, SING AND DO for the teams. What are you zealous of as a child of God? If you are FOLLOWING GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY, YOU WILL BE DEVOTED TO HIM AND YOUR ZEAL WILL SHOW IT. You will work to advance the Church of God in your locality and the world at large. WHERE YOUR HEART IS, YOUR ZEAL SHOWS. Be zealous for God! Let's enlarge the kingdom of God.

THE WILL OF GOD (2)

The will of God is in His word. His word shows His intention, purpose or desire. The Bible is therefore the primary source of knowing the will of God. He speaks in specific instances concerning our career, finances, ministry, relationships, marriage, etc. just as He did in David's case.

"And David enquired of the Lord, saying, ... And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand." (2 Samuel 5:19 KJV)

He really speaks for you to know His will. Before we look at how to know God's will, let us first look at some four misconceptions about the will of God.

1. Difficult times (CHALLENGES, OPPOSITION, AFFLICTION, PAIN)? You are out of God's will.

NO! THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU ARE OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD. In fact sometimes it is because you are in the will of God. When you go through difficulties, you may hear that you are out of the will of God, but this can be false. Look at the followings examples:

i. Abraham - After God's promises of greatness, he was immediately met with famine.
ii. Jesus - Jesus had to suffer insults, scourging and death on the cross, all in God's will.
iii. Paul - the prophet Agabus prophesied his suffering but it was God's will for him to travel

2. Difficult times (CHALLENGES, OPPOSITION, AFFLICTION, PAIN)? You are in the will of God.

NO! SOMETIMES THIS MEANS THAT YOU ARE OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD. Some difficulties are indicators that your will is in conflict with God's will - seek to understand. Examples include,

i. Israel - God sent a wasting disease amongst them because they insisted on their desires
ii. Balaam - an angel of God opposed him so that his donkey refused to move as expected
iii. Jonah - God allowed a storm to hit the ship he was using to run away from God's will.
iv. Ps 32:9 - the bit and bridle of the horse represents pain. God promises to use it if we do not understand to come along His will.

Therefore if you are going through some difficult times, understand it is not necessarily an indicator that you are out of the will of God, seek to know His will. Be mindful also that it could be that you are opposing the will of God. Diligently seek to know God's will.

How do I know the will of God?

THE WILL OF GOD (1)
The will of a person is his desire. it can also be his decision, intention or what he purposes to do. Will is one of the greatest gifts God gave man. Unless expressed, either in act or speech, it is usually not known. When we carry through our desires, it brings us fulfilment and pleasure. When your will is done, you experience some excitement - you rejoice!

"The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul..."
(Prov 13:19)

God has a will. Thus He has a desire or purpose for everyone of us. Everyday and in every situation, it pleases Him if we seek and do His will. It does not only bring Him pleasure, but it is profitable for us. Knowing the will of God and following or doing it then should be our highest priority. Jesus taught that when we pray, we should ask that His will in heaven be established here on earth in our lives (Matt 6:10; Lk 11:2) That is our how important Jesus regarded the will of God. David knew this too well. When the Philistines came against him after his enthronement, the Bible recounts,

"And David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand." (2 Samuel 5:19 KJV)

David wanted to know the mind of God with regards this major battle so he prayed and God answered him. God spoke to him, He made His will known to him. God does the same to every child of His who seeks to walk in His perfect will. Concerning where you live, what you do, what you have, what you give, in fact in everything about your life, He wants you to do His desire.

How do i know the will of God?

We are coming your way from today with "Balm Word", the word of God that HEALS. To heal is to make better or stronger. You will be restored, recovery will be your portion, you will find solution to your problems, you will be relieved of pain and freed from the things that cause them, there will be correction of defects and errors, you will become complete or whole, life will come to some dead things, expect the miraculous too. GOD WILL HEAL YOU, only believe!
