# # # 1. **Love**
- **Verse**: Matthew 22:37-39

# # # 2. **Forgiveness**
- **Verse**: Matthew 6:14-15
- "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

# # # 3. **Humility**
- **Verse**: Matthew 23:12
- "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

# # # 4. **Faith**
- **Verse**: Matthew 17:20
- "He replied, 'Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'"

# # # 5. **Peace and Reconciliation**
- **Verse**: Matthew 5:9
- "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

# # # 6. **Service to Others**
- **Verse**: Mark 10:45
- "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

# # # 7. **Golden Rule**
- **Verse**: Luke 6:31
- "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

# # # 8. **Truth**
- **Verse**: John 8:32
- "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

# # # 9. **Integrity and Righteousness**
- **Verse**: Matthew 5:20
- "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."

# # # 10. **Generosity**
- **Verse**: Luke 6:38
- "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

# # # 11. **Hope and Eternal Life**
- **Verse**: John 3:16
- "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

These principles and teachings of Jesus are foundational to Christian ethics and continue to inspire individuals in their personal and communal lives as well as our Faith journey with God.

The Bible presents numerous principles and teachings that can guide individuals toward success, both spiritually and in various aspects of life. Here are some key themes and verses that encapsulate these principles:

# # # 1. **Faith and Trust in God**
- **Proverbs 3:5-6**: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
- Emphasizes the importance of relying on God rather than solely on human wisdom.

# # # 2. **Diligence and Hard Work**
- **Proverbs 10:4**: "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."
- Hard work and perseverance are often rewarded.

# # # 3. **Integrity and Honesty**
- **Proverbs 11:3**: "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them."
- Success built on honesty leads to lasting fulfillment.

# # # 4. **Wisdom and Knowledge**
- **Proverbs 4:7**: "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."
- Pursuing wisdom is fundamental to making sound decisions.

# # # 5. **Love and Service to Others**
- **Mark 12:31**: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
- Success involves caring for others and contributing to the community.

# # # 6. **Perseverance Through Trials**
- **James 1:2-4**: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds..."
- Emphasizes growth and maturity through challenges.

# # # 7. **Gratitude and Contentment**
- **Philippians 4:11-13**: "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances..."
- Success is also about finding peace in what you have.

# # # 8. **Seeking God's Kingdom First**
- **Matthew 6:33**: "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
- Prioritizing spiritual pursuits leads to overall success.

# # # Conclusion
Success, according to the Bible, is not merely about wealth or status but encompasses spiritual growth, moral integrity, service to others, and a deep relationship with God. By embodying these principles, individuals can achieve a fulfilling and meaningful life.

2nd HELVETIC CONFESSION OF FAITH

CHAPTER II
Of Interpreting The Holy Scripture;
and of Fathers, Councils, and Traditions

THE TRUE INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE. The apostle peter has said that the Holy Scriptures are not of private interpretation (2 Pet. 1:20), and thus we do not allow all possible interpretations. Nor consequently do we acknowledge as the true or genuine interpretation of the Scriptures what is called the conception of the Roman Church, that is, what the defenders of the Roman Church plainly maintain should be thrust upon all for acceptance. But we hold that the interpretation of the Scripture to be orthodox and genuine which is gleaned from the Scriptures themselves (from the nature of the language in which they were written, likewise according to the circumstances in which they were set down, and expounded in the light of and unlike passages and of many and clearer passages) and which agree with the rule of faith and love, and contributes much to the glory of God and man's salvation.
INTERPRETATIONS OF THE HOLY FATHERS. Wherefore we do not despise the interpretations of the holy Greek and Latin fathers, nor reject their disputations and treatises concerning sacred matters as far as they agree with the Scriptures; but we modestly dissent from them when they are found to set down things differing from, or altogether contrary to, the Scriptures. Neither do we think that we do them any wrong in this matter; seeing that they all, with one consent, will not have their writings equated with the canonical Scriptures, but command us to prove how far they agree or disagree with them, and to accept what is in agreement and to reject what is in disagreement.
COUNCILS. And in the same order also we place the decrees and canons of councils.
Wherefore we do not permit ourselves, in controversies about religion or matters of faith, to urge our case with only the opinions of the fathers or decrees of councils; much less by received customs, or by the large number of those who share the same opinion, or by the prescription of a long time. Who Is The Judge? Therefore, we do not admit any other judge than God himself, who proclaims by the Holy Scriptures what is true, what is false, what is to be followed, or what to be avoided. So we do assent to the judgments of spiritual men which are drawn from the Word of God. Certainly Jeremiah and other prophets vehemently condemned the assemblies of priests which were set up against the law of God; and diligently admonished us that we should not listen to the fathers, or tread in their path who, walking in their own inventions, swerved from the law of God.

THE 2ND HELVETIC CONFESSION OF FAITH
The Second Helvetic Confession (Latin: Confessio Helvetica posterior) was written by Bullinger in 1562 and revised in 1564 as a private exercise. It came to the notice of Elector Palatine Frederick III, who had it translated into German and published. It was attractive to some Reformed leaders as a corrective to what they saw as the overly Lutheran statements of the Strasbourg Consensus. An attempt was made in early 1566 to have all the churches of Switzerland sign the Second Helvetic Confession as a common statement of faith. It gained a favourable hold on the Swiss churches, who had found the First Confession too short and too Lutheran..

CHAPTER I
Of The Holy Scripture Being The True
Word of God

CANONICAL SCRIPTURE. We believe and confess the canonical Scriptures of the holy prophets and apostles of both Testaments to be the true Word of God, and to have sufficient authority of themselves, not of men. For God himself spoke to the fathers, prophets, apostles, and still speaks to us through the Holy Scriptures. And in this Holy Scripture, the universal Church of Christ has the most complete exposition of all that pertains to a saving faith, and also to the framing of a life acceptable to God; and in this respect it is expressly commanded by God that nothing be either added to or taken from the same.

SCRIPTURE TEACHES FULLY ALL GODLINESS. We judge, therefore, that from these Scriptures are to be derived true wisdom and godliness, the reformation and government of churches; as also instruction in all duties of piety; and, to be short, the confirmation of doctrines, and the rejection of all errors, moreover, all exhortations according to that word of the apostle, "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof," etc. (II Timothy 3:16-17). Again, "I am writing these instructions to you," says the apostle to Timothy, "So that you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God," etc. (I Timothy 3:14-15).

SCRIPTURE IS THE WORD OF GOD. Again, the selfsame apostle to the Thessalonians: "When," says he, "You received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it, not as the word of men but as what it really is, the Word of God," etc. (I Thess. 2:13) For the Lord himself has said in the gospel, "It is not you who speak, but the Spirit of my Father speaking through you"; therefore "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me" (Matt. 10:20; Luke 10:16; John 13:20)

THE PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD IS THE WORD OF GOD. Wherefore when this Word of God is now preached in the church by preachers lawfully called, we believe that the very Word of God is proclaimed, and received by the faithful; and that neither any other Word of God is to be invented nor is to be expected from heaven: and that now the Word itself which is preached is to be regarded, not the minister that preaches; for even if he be evil and a sinner, nevertheless the Word of God remains still true and good.
Neither do we think that therefore the outward preaching is to be thought as fruitless because the instruction in true religion depends on the inward illumination of the Spirit, or because it is written "And no longer shall each man teach his neighbor..., for they shall all know me" (Jer. 31:34), And "Neither he who plants nor he that waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth" (I Cor. 3:7). For although "No one can come to Christ unless he be drawn by the Father" (John 6:44), And unless the Holy Spirit inwardly illumines him, yet we know that it is surely the will of God that his Word should be preached outwardly also. God could indeed, by his Holy Spirit, or by the ministry of an angel, without the ministry of St. Peter, have taught Cornelius in the Acts; but, nevertheless, he refers him to Peter, of whom the angel speaking says, "He shall tell you what you ought to do."

INWARD ILLUMINATION DOES NOT ELIMINATE EXTERNAL PREACHING. For he that illuminates inwardly by giving men the Holy Spirit, the same one, by way of commandment, said unto his disciples, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation" (Mark 16:15). And so in Phillippi, Paul preached the word outwardly to Lydia, a seller of purple goods; but the Lord inwardly opened the woman's heart (Acts 16:14). And the same Paul, after a beautiful development of his thought, in Romans 10:17 at length comes to the conclusion, "So faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God by the preaching of Christ." At the same time we recognize that God can illuminate whom and when he will, Even without the external ministry, for that is in his power; but we speak of the usual way of instructing men, delivered unto us from God, both by commandment and examples.

HERESIES. We therefore detest all the heresies of Artemon, the Manichaeans, the Valentinians, of Cerdon, and the Marcionites, who deny that the Scriptures proceeded from the Holy Spirit; or did not accept some parts of them, or interpolated and corrupted them.

APOCRYPHA. And yet we do not conceal the fact that certain books of the Old Testament were by the ancient authors called apocryphal, and by the others ecclesiastical; in as much as some would have them read in the churches, but not advanced as an authority from which the faith is to be established. As Augustine also, in his De Civitate Dei, book 18, ch. 38, remarks that "In the books of the Kings, the names and books of certain prophets are cited"; but he adds that "They are not in the canon"; and that "those books which we have suffice unto godliness."

Atheism

What are the characteristics of atheism?

I'm going to do this with scripture today. This is already lengthy with scriptures so I am not going to be too "wordy" about it.

I pray for the lost all the time. This world is growing darker and the time is getting nearer to where we will no longer have God's grace. So I plant my seeds and pray they grow. ✝️🙏🙏🙏

Jeremiah 5:4
“They don’t know the ways of the LORD. They don’t understand God’s laws.”

Living in ignorance of God. Intellectual atheism is a mind without the knowledge of God. Practicing atheism is a life without a relationship with God.

Jude 1:4
I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

1 John 4:3
But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God.

Denying Jesus Christ. Those who deny Jesus now will be denied access to heaven by Jesus at the time of judgment.

John 18:37
Jesus responded, “. . . I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”

Romans 1:18
But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

Jeremiah 14:14
Then the LORD said, “These prophets are telling lies in my name. I did not send them or tell them to speak. I did not give them any messages. . . . They speak foolishness made up in their own lying hearts.”

Denying God’s truth. There is a sharp line between what is true and what is not. To deny truth is, by default, to be living a lie, to be living by principles that have no purpose, no clear direction, no foundation that lasts, and no future.

Exodus 5:2
“Is that so?” retorted Pharaoh. “And who is the LORD? Why should I listen to him and let Israel go? I don’t know the LORD.”

2 Kings 18:32-35
“Don’t listen to Hezekiah when he tries to mislead you by saying, ‘The LORD will rescue us!’ Have the gods of any other nations ever saved their people from the king of Assyria? . . . So what makes you think that the LORD can rescue Jerusalem from me?”

Defying God and his message. Picking a fight with the creator of the universe is not a wise thing to do.

Isaiah 5:19
They even mock God and say, “Hurry up and do something! We want to see what you can do.”

2 Peter 3:3-4
I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again?”

Denying God’s ability to intervene in human events. To deny that God takes an active interest in this world is the same as saying that God doesn’t care about you or that God is not powerful enough to help you.

Leviticus 19:12
Do not bring shame on the name of your God by using it to swear falsely. I am the LORD.

Ezekiel 43:8
“They put their idol altars right next to mine. . . . They defiled my holy name by such detestable sin, so I consumed them in my anger.”

Showing contempt for God’s name. Those who profane the name of God are cutting off their only lifeline to eternity.

Romans 1:28
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

Isaiah 26:10
Your kindness to the wicked does not make them do good. . . . the wicked keep doing wrong and take no notice of the LORD’s majesty.

Jeremiah 5:5
“I will go and speak to their leaders. Surely they know the ways of the LORD and understand God’s laws.” But the leaders, too, as one man, had thrown off God’s yoke and broken his chains.

Living godless, immoral lives. Atheists are so sure there is no God, but have they stopped to consider what life might look like after the grave without a God? This usually leads to a life of immorality and living for the moment because there is no hope for a future.

Romans 1:25
They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise!

Revelation 9:20
But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk!

Worshiping created things. But which created thing is greater than the creator who made it and thus deserves our worship?

What is God’s desire for the atheist? 🤔🤔

Isaiah 55:7
Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

Luke 19:10
“For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

God’s desire for everyone is repentance, salvation, and a personal relationship with him. God still loves those who do not love him. There is no greater love than that.

Beware of pelagianism/semipelagianism it's NOT Arminianism.

Semi-Pelagianism is theological position midway between Pelagianism and the teachings of Augustine of Hippo regarding the origins of the experience of salvation. Pelagianism placed salvation in the power of human free-will; Augustine ascribed salvation (regeneration, new birth) wholly to God's grace; the Semi-pelagians held that salvation was initially prompted by God's grace, but depended for its effect on human cooperation.

The Council of Orange is one of the most important councils of the early Church and was often pointed to by the Reformers as evidence that Rome had abandoned the theology of its own Council Fathers and Church Doctors. All persons of faith should take the time to get to know it. The content of the Council itself naturally grew out of the public dispute between Augustine and Pelagius. This critical dispute had to do with the extent to which the natural man is responsible for his or her own regeneration (the new birth), i.e. whether the work of God in regeneration monergistic (God alone) or synergistic (a cooperation of man and God) ? The Council of Orange condemned the Semi-Pelagian doctrine that fallen creatures, although sinful, have an island of righteousness which made them morally competent enough to contribute toward their salvation by taking hold of the offer of the grace of God through an act of their unregenerate natural will. Orange upheld Augustine's view that the will is evil by corruption of nature and becomes good only by a correction of grace. For what makes men to differ, the grace God or the will of man? Below we focus on five (5) of the 25 Canons that have been influential to to the Reformed understanding of the work of Christ in salvation. These truths were hugely consequential in 16th century Reformation Theology and its apprehension of the doctrine's of grace. Grounded in Scripture, this Counsel is devotional theology at its best and will transform the outlook of all who take time to meditate on it. (Especially take note of Canon's 6-7)

CANON 6. If anyone says that God has mercy upon us when, apart from his grace, we believe, will, desire, strive, labor, pray, watch, study, seek, ask, or knock, but does not confess that it is by the infusion and inspiration of the Holy Spirit within us that we have the faith, the will, or the strength to do all these things as we ought; or if anyone makes the assistance of grace depend on the humility or obedience of man and does not agree that it is a gift of grace itself that we are obedient and humble, he contradicts the Apostle who says, "What have you that you did not receive?" (1 Cor. 4:7), and, "But by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Cor. 15:10).

Semi-Pelagianism is theological position midway between Pelagianism and the teachings of Augustine of Hippo regarding the origins of the experience of
