GA PRESBYTERY JY WINS NATIONAL ZONE ONE BIBLE QUIZ, QUALIFIES FOR NATIONAL FINALS FOR SECOND TIME
The Ga Presbytery Junior Youth (JY) has emerged winner of the 2026 National Zone One Bible Quiz Competition of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, qualifying for the National Finals for the second consecutive time.
The competition, hosted by the Volta Presbytery on September 5, 2026, was held at the Emmaus Congregation, Powmu, near Akosombo.
The keenly contested competition brought together four Presbyteries—Ga, Ga West, Dangme Tongu and Volta—with the contestants demonstrating strong knowledge of the Bible, Presbyterian history and Junior Youth materials.
The competition featured four challenging rounds, with questions covering Joshua chapters 13 to 24, Bible exposition, the history of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Junior Youth Resource Manual Block 3, as well as character studies of Wilhelmina Kaade, Maria Gyamaa and Kofi Buade of Otumi.
At the end of the four rounds, Ga Presbytery JY emerged victorious with 107.5 points.
Dangme Tongu Presbytery placed second with 105 points, while Ga West Presbytery followed closely in third position with 104 points.
Volta Presbytery placed fourth with 75.5 points.
With the victory, Ga Presbytery JY will represent Zone One at the National Finals scheduled for December 2026, where it will compete for the ultimate trophy.
At the National Finals, Ga Presbytery will face defending champions Akuapim Presbytery, Asante Akyem, West Brong and Western Presbytery.
The victory marks the second consecutive qualification for the National Finals for Ga Presbytery JY. The team will be hoping to go a step further this year after narrowly missing out on the national title last year, when Akuapim Presbytery defeated Ga by just 0.5 points.
The latest triumph therefore gives Ga Presbytery JY another opportunity to challenge for the national championship and avenge last year’s narrow defeat.
