Jonathan Ekuban Daily Devotional – 24TH OCTOBER, 2020

TITLE: INNER BEAUTY

Memory Verse:
ROMANS 8:6- “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace.”

Sadly, many Christians spend more time grooming the outward man (our physical bodies) instead of grooming the inward man (our spirit). Ladies spend time and money on their hair, on pedicure to make their feet and toe nails look the best, on manicure to make their hands and finger nails look good, fix artificial nails and eye lashes, amongst others. Men also shave their hair trimmed or shave their beard or moustache, and some also build up their muscles as part of grooming. When it comes to grooming the spirit however, many are found wanting.

Apostle Peter cautions Christian women in 1st Peter 3:1-4 to be more concerned about the state of their spirit as compared to their outward appearance. Peter states that the beauty of a woman transcends her physical looks and appearance, to include her inner beauty. Thus, one should invest in grooming the inner self even more than the physical body. The state of our spirit is more important to God than the state of our physical body.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to daily groom myself not only physically but spiritually.

TITLE: YOUR DELIVERANCE IS COMING

There is an expiry date to every challenge of life just as every product has its expiry date. No matter how long the problem has existed, the invasion of God stops its activities. I see God intervening in every affair of your life. He will convert your pain into pleasure and your sour situation into sweetness. As the seasons change, God will pick you from the backseat to the front seat, from the bottom to the top, from shame to glory and from obscurity into a glorious popularity. Your story will change.

Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. Proverbs 28:18

Whatever the afflictions are, deliverance is coming from God and you will possess your possessions.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Psalm 34:19, 10

As you seek to serve the Lord, He will surely bring deliverance your way and provide all your needs. Ruth was a very trustworthy lady. She followed her mother-in-law who was old into a foreign land where naturally speaking, there seemed to be no hope of making any gainful living. But as destiny would have it, the tables turned and the lines fell in pleasant places on her behalf.

Her season of change had come after faithfully serving mother Naomi and also trusting in the Lord. Naomi was also pretty concerned about the welfare of Ruth, so she gave her an advice that would open a new chapter in her life and catapult her to a glorious destiny.

PRAYER:
Pray that you will be delivered from every affliction. Amen!
