SERVICE EXCERPTS | THE BELIEVER & THE HOLY SPIRIT
On 30th August 2026, we received a powerful message from our President, Jason Johnson. Before the sermon, Rev. led the congregation through a time of prayer and declaration ahead of the new month of September.
He spoke on the topic “The Believer and the Holy Spirit.”The main scripture for the sermon was John 14:16–17, which speaks about the Holy Spirit as the Helper who dwells with and in believers.
The teaching focused on understanding the identity, role, and importance of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer. Members were reminded that the Holy Spirit is God, who dwells in every born-again believer. The speaker highlighted the different roles of the Holy Spirit as our:
• Helper
• Comforter
• Advocate
• Intercessor
• Counselor
• Strengthener
• Standby
The sermon also emphasized the importance of developing a daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit through prayer, reading and meditating on God’s Word, worship, and acknowledging His presence. Members were encouraged to allow the Holy Spirit to transform their character, activate their spiritual gifts, strengthen their prayer lives, and make them effective witnesses for Christ.
The service ended with prayers for a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, spiritual growth, boldness, and the activation of spiritual gifts. Members were also encouraged to carry the message into their daily lives and remain conscious of the Holy Spirit’s presence as they entered into the new month.
