SCRIPTURE AND SPIRIT
Mostly, Christians are entreated to walk with the scriptures in all facet of our spiritual engagements; which is very expedient.π However, many of us, in as much as we use scriptures to pray; donβt see the products of the prayer and we begin to give room for doubt, guilt and try to check ourselves whether we have by any means wrong God in any way. This short word of exhortation is to enlighten us to know the place of scriptures and the Spirit (RHEMA) in our daily spiritual activities.
Jesus said in (Joh 6:63). It is the that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Beloved in the lord I want us to understand that, not God had said (which has been written) maybe what He is at a particular point in time. For example, bible said the hand that doesnβt work shouldnβt eat but that doesnβt mean you have to do every work; NO. God has to direct you as to what to do. Again, during evangelism we are admonished to go into the world but the Spirit more often than not, directs us to specific individuals during evangelism or even atimes may restrict us from evangelizing to new souls but rather help build souls-making disciples-unto maturity. (Acts 6:4) In as much as God gives general assignments, He has specifics.
So back to our studies, people quote streams of scriptures for one prayer topic but donβt get result. Here is where the problem is. We have to understand that not everything Scriptural is Spiritual. Itβs not about quoting thousands of verses from scriptures to prove a point before God; NO, rather it is about HIS SPOKEN WORDS THAT COMES TO YOU.
In the above scripture, Jesus said, the words I β¦not I or to you, not the word (child of God) read to me but what I #(GOD) speaks to you. So the question here is that what is God speaking to you in spirit concerning a particular situation? Until the spirits (rhema-Godβs spoken word) hits your Spirit, quoting 1000 verses maybe irrelevant.
You have been praying about a particular thing for some time now, God has answered your prayer and He is speaking the to you but here is the case, you canβt hear him but then He is speaking and the answer is just one.
Our consistency in prayer must not be weighed by the number of scriptures we know but by a to hear His Voice even as we pray.
If we are to hear His voice, and according to 1 Corinthians 14:10 there are so many voices, how then do we distinguish Godβs voice from the rest? This is where we utilize the written word of God to serve as a guide. Therefor we are to know scriptures.
So shortly, this is what we ought to do when prayingβ¦.
Enter into prayer with scriptures, to seek Godβs Voice; in His voice is the product of your prayer; that Voice which is a spirit is what actually quickens you (makes your answers alive to you). Glory to God.
God bless you for making time to read this short word of exhortation. Have a blissful day.
