My few years in ministry has taught me a lot.
Young ministers, hear me.
One of the greatest deficiencies in our generation is not the absence of power but the absence of emotional intelligence.
We have many who can pray, fast, access the realm of the Spirit… but very few have mastered their emotions, and this is dangerous.
Ministry is not done in isolation; it is done among people.
Your anointing will bring you before people, but your emotional maturity will determine whether you can keep them.
There are many who have lost helpers, relationships, even divine connections, not because they lacked power, but because they lacked stability.
The truth of matter is, not every reaction is spiritual.
Sometimes, it is immaturity speaking.
Sometimes, it is insecurity speaking.
Sometimes, it is pain that has not been healed.
If you are not discerning, you will keep misinterpreting your emotions as the leading of the Spirit.
There are young ministers who cannot be corrected.
The moment you attempt to guide them, they withdraw, they become cold, or they begin to dishonor you.
This is not strength. This is fragility.
Growth requires the stamina to be corrected without losing your posture. (Proverbs 12:1)
There are others, you can't talk to them when they are angry.
They speak carelessly, wound deeply, and later hide behind silence or spirituality.
Know that every word you speak as a minister carries weight. (Ecclesiastes 5:2)
You must learn to have control over your tongue, your reactions and your emotions.
Young minister, if you don't heal, you will bleed on people who didn't wound you.
If you don't grow emotionally, you will use your office to compensate for your weaknesses, and this is how abuse begins.
Don't be in a hurry to be seen but be in a hurry to be built.
In this season, God is not just raising powerful men; He is raising safe men. Men who can carry power without wounding people.
Men who can lead without controlling. Men who can be trusted, not just with mysteries, but with the hearts of the flock.
Let this be your prayer:
“Lord, don't just make me powerful, make me whole.”
