It was founded in 2000 and is a non-profit humanitarian aid organisation registered with the Department of Social Welfare, Ghana, in Accra (Reg. The organisation’s goal is to improve the lives of the poor and disadvantaged youth and children in all areas of Ghana, specifically by means of education or training programmes. Family Outreach Ghana recognises the importance of education and training in
empowering young people and increasing their employability in the increasing complex modern world which is reaching into every part of the world, including Africa’s cities. To try to meet this need, we organise vocational training for young ladies, particularly targeting single mothers. Apart from this, members of Family Outreach Ghana have acted as advocates against child labour and have appeared on television programmes as well as on the radio. Family Outreach Ghana also acknowledges the significant role played by elementary education and has been running a community school for disadvantaged children in Accra for 6 years. This school offers free or highly subsidised education for primary school age children. In Ghana there is no free universal education and many parents are not in the position to pay any school fees. This means that many young children are wandering around on the streets or hanging around at home with no hope for the future. At the school the children receive good-quality basic education. In addition they learn English which will give them a big advantage in the future and will open many more doors of opportunity to them in the employment world, helping the development of the country by making these valuable human resources available.
ファミリーアウトリーチガーナはガーナ現地で始められた、ＮＧＯで、西暦２０００年に無利益の人道的援助団体としてガーナ政府の社会福祉省の認可を受けた。（ガーナアクラ登録番号 No.D.S.W 1601) 団体のゴールは、貧困層、援助不足な若者や子供達にガーナ全域で、教育と訓練プログラムを施すことにより、生活をよりよくする事にある。
ファミリーアウトリーチガーナは、教育や訓練が若者に活性化を与え、屈折した状況にある、現在社会において、どんな世界、アフリカの都市でも、彼らの就職の可能性を高める重要性を理解している。
この必要を満たすために、私達は、実践訓練を若い女性達、特にシングルマザー達に対して施してている。それとは別に、ファミリーアウトリーチガーナのメンバー達は、ラジオやテレビで、児童労働に反対して、抗議発言をしてきている。
ファミリーアウトリーチガーナはアクラにおいて過去６年間にわたって、幼児教育を恵まれない子供達にする為に、コミュニティースクールをする事によって、早期教育の重要性を認識している。この学校は、無料或いは、非常に低い授業料によって、幼児教育を施している。ガーナでは、無料の教育が歌われているが行われていない。多くの両親たちは、子供達を学校に送る為の授業料を払う事が出来ない為に、小さな子供達が学校に行かないで、家の近所でうろうろしている事が多く、将来に対する希望が見込めないでいる。
私達の学校では、質の高い、基礎教育を受けられるようにしている。又、英語を学ぶ事によって、将来的に、大きな可能性を見出し、就業するに当たって、より多くの機会が与えられる。そして、国の推進を進めるにあたって、このような人材を作る事は可能性をもたらす。
