A CHOSEN PEOPLE

1Peter 2: 9 But you are a chosen people,a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises to Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

As chosen people who have been called out of darkness into His marvelous light, we must let that light shine to draw all men to Christ. Your light should be the new character you exhibit, your good deeds, and the Good News you share with people around you.

Never be worried about how to live in order to reflect His Glory. You have the Holy Spirit who will help you and lead you into all truth.

As a living stone chosen by God you are being built into a spiritual house to be a Holy priesthood.

_WEDNESDAY 17TH AUGUST, 2016._

*THE GOOD SHEPHERD*
*John 10:11* _I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd risks and lays down His [own] life for the sheep._

Jesus in this Scripture described The Good Shepherd as one who risks and lays down His life for the sheep. He died on the cross for us(sheep) and paid all our debts.

When He was on earth He walked to many towns,villages and cities to share the good news with all men. There were times He had to provide food for His audiences(feeding about 5000 people), heal the sicks, comfort the brokenhearted and raise the dead. He always makes sure His sheep are in good health

As leaders(shepherd) in our homes, churches, associates are we ready to risk and lay down our lives for the flock? Do we dress those of them that are wounded or we leave them to suffer? Are the sheep led to pastures by their own shepherd or they are left in the hands of strangers who end up of destroying them. These are few questions as a shepherd you should ask yourself.

If Jesus Christ laid down His life for us then we also ought to lay down our lives for the flock God has entrusted to us.

_MONDAY, 15TH AUGUST, 2016._

*THE VICTORY IS IN YOUR SPIRIT.*

*Romans 7:19*
_For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do._

Many do quote this scripture to explain why they have not been able to live that victorious life in Christ. But in today's devotion, you would come to understand how to experience the victorious life in your flesh.

1. You must first understand that God is eternal and because he is eternal, he contacts the eternal part of us which is our spirit. Psalm 48:14

2. God is a spirit and therefore his contact to us is to our spirit. John 4:23-24

Having stated the above, it is of worth to note that, salvation took place in your spirit and so, to live victoriously, we must live in the spirit.

Living in the spirit is not an option but a necessity. You would fail and keep failing if you limit your living to your five senses.

We live by faith (pistis - persuasion) and not by sight. We are born from above and we can only live victoriously by that standards.

Decide to live in the spirit today and that will mark the end of satisfying fleshly desires.

_FRIDAY 12TH,AUGUST, 2016_

*NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES...*

_JOHN 14:27_ *Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you.*

Christ promised life and peace to those who are His children and part of His kingdom but this peace is not as the world gives. So this means the world gives a kind of peace. The greek word for the world is _kosmos_ which means _world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly, government,_ of which satan is the god of it(2 Corin 4:4). This means he operates and orders it.

The _kosmos_ kind of peace is derived from drugs, alcohol and ungodly pleasures because the ruler himself is never godly. Some depend on alcohol to help them forget about their woes, others use seductives and drugs to help them feel high and forget about their lives, others resort in po*******hy and sexual addition, others also chase after education, work, money, marriage and properties in search for peace but they never find it. _Kosmos_ gives money, success, power just as Christ gives but theirs comes with sorrow, is short lived, a type of escapism which leads men into destruction.( Proverbs 10:22).

A _kosmos_ body like the United Nations(UN) constantly works towards world peace, yet wars have been on the increase even after the UN began operating as a world peace enforcing
body.

Some attempt to seek for peace by looking for it in the wrong place,the world, but the peace Christ gives surpasses all human understanding, it is divine and not dependent on this _kosmos_. It gives us a kind of inner joy, hope and satisfaction.

We can actually enjoy this peace as citizens of the kingdom by trusting in the Lord and not leaning on our own understanding( Proverbs 3:5-6), casting all our cares on Christ knowing He cares( 1 Peter 5:7), not being anxious about anything but channelling all things in prayer, supplication and with thanksgiving(Philippians 4:6)

LET IT GO.
Many of our entanglements are as a result of certain things that we hold dearly in our hearts.
It may be a disappointment you have received from a loved one and instead of letting that disappointment go, you are still holding to it. It is true that that loved one is so dear to you but that disappointment is not dear LET IS GO and live a free life.

If possible be happy with everyone whom you meet as you journey through life. Love everybody as yourself. Remember there is no forgiveness without love and there no love without forgiveness.

"You must forgive the people who hurt you so you can get out of prison. You'll never be free until you do. Let go of those wrongs they've done to you. Get that bitterness out of your life.
