THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST INSPIRES LOVE HOPE AND FAITH IN GOD
The teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible emphasize a range of key principles that guide moral conduct, spirituality, and interpersonal relationships. Here are some of those core principles along with corresponding Bible verses:

# # # 1. **Love**
- **Verse**: Matthew 22:37-39
- "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

# # # 2. **Forgiveness**
- **Verse**: Matthew 6:14-15
- "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

# # # 3. **Humility**
- **Verse**: Matthew 23:12
- "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."

# # # 4. **Faith**
- **Verse**: Matthew 17:20
- "He replied, 'Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.'"

# # # 5. **Peace and Reconciliation**
- **Verse**: Matthew 5:9
- "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

# # # 6. **Service to Others**
- **Verse**: Mark 10:45
- "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

# # # 7. **Golden Rule**
- **Verse**: Luke 6:31
- "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

# # # 8. **Truth**
- **Verse**: John 8:32
- "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

# # # 9. **Integrity and Righteousness**
- **Verse**: Matthew 5:20
- "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."

# # # 10. **Generosity**
- **Verse**: Luke 6:38
- "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

# # # 11. **Hope and Eternal Life**
- **Verse**: John 3:16
- "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

These principles and teachings of Jesus are foundational to Christian ethics and continue to inspire individuals in their personal and communal lives as well as our Faith journey with God.

THE 16TH CENTURY PROTESTANT REFORMATION (31ST OCT 1517)

The Reformation of the Church to defend authentic Christian Doctrine took place on the 31st October, 1517. On this Day Martin Luther, PhD an Augustinian Monk who by his encounter with the Holy Spirit inspired by Romans 1:17( the just man shall live by faith) nailed the 95 Theses of Reformation at Castle Gate, University of Wittenberg, Germany to break away From the erroneous doctrines ànd dogmas being taught by the Early Church that repudiate, distorts and contradicts the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So, the Protestant Movement began. The Reformation was not an intellectual exercise but a spiritual crusade against erroneous doctrines like Transubstantiation, Indulgence, Purgatory, Apostolic Succession, Penance, immaculate conception of Mary etc. being taught in the church that has no Scripture foundations. It was a crusade to defend the sanctity of the Glorious Gospel grounded on the Apostolic Doctrine (The teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles) which is the primary source of the Christian Doctrine.

Therefore, This Book tells a unique story of Christianity. Its Etymology (Origin and History), its transitions from Judaism, to Christianity in the early ages, middle ages to the dark ages and finally to the Reformation ages where the Reformers led by Martin Luther reformed the Church and placed it on the Apostolic Doctrine which is the foundational Doctrine of Christianity.

So, on the 31st October, 1517, Dr. Martin Luther released 95 powerful statements (95 Thesis of the to Reformation) defending the authentic Christian Faith against misleading religious practices of the early Roman Catholic Institution.

His actions were the Catalyst for the Protestant Reformation that inspired countless Believers to persue True Repentance and Biblical Foundation for their Faith. Thus, the protestant reformation was not an intellectual exercise but a spiritual crusade to defend the sanctify of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ against heresies of early Roman Catholic Institution.

The Reformation birthed 5 principles

1. Sola Christus (Christ is the Head of His Body the Church and not the Pontiff

2. Sola Scriptura (That Scripture alone is the final authority of the Church. That which is not subject to Scripture is not bound on the Christian conscience)

3. Sola Gratia ( Salvation is found in Christ alone and not by works of sacrament offered by the Pontiff

4. Sola fide ( our justification as Christians is by Faith in Christ Alone)

5. Soli Deo Gloria (Glory and Worship be to God alone

So, as we Mark the 507years of the Protestant Reformation, believers must pay attention to the authentic Christian Doctrine that reformed the church and be grounded on them in our faith journey with God in our quest to be partakers of eternal glory.. ETERNAL LIFE. We must stife for godliness, goodness, faithfulness, and Righteousness which we run the full distance of faith. We must teach the Church sound doctrine in order to bring back to True faith and practices those who are being misled by false teachings and religious practices that have no Roots in Scripture.

I will build my Church and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. Matthew 16:18. Amen.

Semper Reformanda!!

Empowered by Faith: Finding Strength in Scripture

# # # 1. Philippians 4:13
**"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."**

**Explanation:** This verse emphasizes the idea that our strength and ability come not from our own efforts but from our faith in Jesus Christ. Paul, the writer, faced many challenges and adversities, yet he discovered that reliance on Christ empowered him to overcome anything. This verse encourages believers to trust in God's provision and support in all situations.

# # # 2. Isaiah 40:31
**"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."**

**Explanation:** In this passage, the prophet Isaiah assures believers that those who place their hope and trust in the Lord will find renewed strength. The imagery of eagles soaring represents divine empowerment and resilience. Waiting on the Lord implies patience and trust in His timing, which leads to spiritual renewal and enduring strength.

# # # 3. 2 Timothy 1:7
**"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."**

**Explanation:** In this letter, Paul encourages Timothy to be bold in his faith. This verse reassures believers that fear does not come from God; instead, God equips us with power, love, and self-discipline. This highlights the importance of confidence and courage in our Christian walk, encouraging us to live with strength in the face of challenges.

# # # 4. Psalm 46:1
**"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."**

**Explanation:** This psalm declares God as a source of protection and strength, especially during difficult times. It reassures believers that God is always available and ready to provide support in times of distress. The imagery of refuge conveys safety and security that one finds in God amidst life's storms.

# # # 5. Ephesians 6:10
**"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."**

**Explanation:** This verse serves as a call to spiritual strength that comes from the Lord. Paul encourages believers to rely on God's power rather than their own. This is particularly important as he prepares to discuss the spiritual warfare believers face. The strength that comes from God empowers us to stand firm against life's challenges and adversities.

# # # 6. Deuteronomy 31:6
**"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."**

**Explanation:** This verse speaks to the Israelites as they were about to enter the Promised Land. Moses reminds them to be courageous and strong because God is with them. The assurance that God will never abandon them serves as a powerful encouragement for facing fears and challenges. This principle remains relevant for believers today, reminding us that God’s presence provides strength and courage.

# # # 7. Joshua 1:9
**"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."**

**Explanation:** This command from God to Joshua emphasizes the importance of strength and courage in leadership and in life. God reassures Joshua that He will be present with him, providing the confidence and strength needed to overcome obstacles. It highlights that true strength comes from the assurance of God's presence and guidance.

These verses encourage believers to find their strength in God, reminding them that they are not alone in their struggles and that divine support is always available.

THE TRUE INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE.
Finally, The Apostle Peter has said that the Holy Scriptures are not of private interpretation (2 Pet. 1:20), and thus we do not allow all possible interpretations except by divine inspiration of Holy Spirit.

2nd HELVETIC CONFESSION OF FAITH

CHAPTER II
Of Interpreting The Holy Scripture;
and of Fathers, Councils, and Traditions

THE TRUE INTERPRETATION OF SCRIPTURE. The apostle peter has said that the Holy Scriptures are not of private interpretation (2 Pet. 1:20), and thus we do not allow all possible interpretations. Nor consequently do we acknowledge as the true or genuine interpretation of the Scriptures what is called the conception of the Roman Church, that is, what the defenders of the Roman Church plainly maintain should be thrust upon all for acceptance. But we hold that the interpretation of the Scripture to be orthodox and genuine which is gleaned from the Scriptures themselves (from the nature of the language in which they were written, likewise according to the circumstances in which they were set down, and expounded in the light of and unlike passages and of many and clearer passages) and which agree with the rule of faith and love, and contributes much to the glory of God and man's salvation.
INTERPRETATIONS OF THE HOLY FATHERS. Wherefore we do not despise the interpretations of the holy Greek and Latin fathers, nor reject their disputations and treatises concerning sacred matters as far as they agree with the Scriptures; but we modestly dissent from them when they are found to set down things differing from, or altogether contrary to, the Scriptures. Neither do we think that we do them any wrong in this matter; seeing that they all, with one consent, will not have their writings equated with the canonical Scriptures, but command us to prove how far they agree or disagree with them, and to accept what is in agreement and to reject what is in disagreement.
COUNCILS. And in the same order also we place the decrees and canons of councils.
Wherefore we do not permit ourselves, in controversies about religion or matters of faith, to urge our case with only the opinions of the fathers or decrees of councils; much less by received customs, or by the large number of those who share the same opinion, or by the prescription of a long time. Who Is The Judge? Therefore, we do not admit any other judge than God himself, who proclaims by the Holy Scriptures what is true, what is false, what is to be followed, or what to be avoided. So we do assent to the judgments of spiritual men which are drawn from the Word of God. Certainly Jeremiah and other prophets vehemently condemned the assemblies of priests which were set up against the law of God; and diligently admonished us that we should not listen to the fathers, or tread in their path who, walking in their own inventions, swerved from the law of God.

THE 2ND HELVETIC CONFESSION OF FAITH
The Second Helvetic Confession (Latin: Confessio Helvetica posterior) was written by Bullinger in 1562 and revised in 1564 as a private exercise. It came to the notice of Elector Palatine Frederick III, who had it translated into German and published. It was attractive to some Reformed leaders as a corrective to what they saw as the overly Lutheran statements of the Strasbourg Consensus. An attempt was made in early 1566 to have all the churches of Switzerland sign the Second Helvetic Confession as a common statement of faith. It gained a favourable hold on the Swiss churches, who had found the First Confession too short and too Lutheran..

CHAPTER I
Of The Holy Scripture Being The True
Word of God

CANONICAL SCRIPTURE. We believe and confess the canonical Scriptures of the holy prophets and apostles of both Testaments to be the true Word of God, and to have sufficient authority of themselves, not of men. For God himself spoke to the fathers, prophets, apostles, and still speaks to us through the Holy Scriptures. And in this Holy Scripture, the universal Church of Christ has the most complete exposition of all that pertains to a saving faith, and also to the framing of a life acceptable to God; and in this respect it is expressly commanded by God that nothing be either added to or taken from the same.

SCRIPTURE TEACHES FULLY ALL GODLINESS. We judge, therefore, that from these Scriptures are to be derived true wisdom and godliness, the reformation and government of churches; as also instruction in all duties of piety; and, to be short, the confirmation of doctrines, and the rejection of all errors, moreover, all exhortations according to that word of the apostle, "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof," etc. (II Timothy 3:16-17). Again, "I am writing these instructions to you," says the apostle to Timothy, "So that you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God," etc. (I Timothy 3:14-15).

SCRIPTURE IS THE WORD OF GOD. Again, the selfsame apostle to the Thessalonians: "When," says he, "You received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it, not as the word of men but as what it really is, the Word of God," etc. (I Thess. 2:13) For the Lord himself has said in the gospel, "It is not you who speak, but the Spirit of my Father speaking through you"; therefore "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me" (Matt. 10:20; Luke 10:16; John 13:20)

THE PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD IS THE WORD OF GOD. Wherefore when this Word of God is now preached in the church by preachers lawfully called, we believe that the very Word of God is proclaimed, and received by the faithful; and that neither any other Word of God is to be invented nor is to be expected from heaven: and that now the Word itself which is preached is to be regarded, not the minister that preaches; for even if he be evil and a sinner, nevertheless the Word of God remains still true and good.
Neither do we think that therefore the outward preaching is to be thought as fruitless because the instruction in true religion depends on the inward illumination of the Spirit, or because it is written "And no longer shall each man teach his neighbor..., for they shall all know me" (Jer. 31:34), And "Neither he who plants nor he that waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth" (I Cor. 3:7). For although "No one can come to Christ unless he be drawn by the Father" (John 6:44), And unless the Holy Spirit inwardly illumines him, yet we know that it is surely the will of God that his Word should be preached outwardly also. God could indeed, by his Holy Spirit, or by the ministry of an angel, without the ministry of St. Peter, have taught Cornelius in the Acts; but, nevertheless, he refers him to Peter, of whom the angel speaking says, "He shall tell you what you ought to do."

INWARD ILLUMINATION DOES NOT ELIMINATE EXTERNAL PREACHING. For he that illuminates inwardly by giving men the Holy Spirit, the same one, by way of commandment, said unto his disciples, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation" (Mark 16:15). And so in Phillippi, Paul preached the word outwardly to Lydia, a seller of purple goods; but the Lord inwardly opened the woman's heart (Acts 16:14). And the same Paul, after a beautiful development of his thought, in Romans 10:17 at length comes to the conclusion, "So faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God by the preaching of Christ." At the same time we recognize that God can illuminate whom and when he will, Even without the external ministry, for that is in his power; but we speak of the usual way of instructing men, delivered unto us from God, both by commandment and examples.

HERESIES. We therefore detest all the heresies of Artemon, the Manichaeans, the Valentinians, of Cerdon, and the Marcionites, who deny that the Scriptures proceeded from the Holy Spirit; or did not accept some parts of them, or interpolated and corrupted them.

APOCRYPHA. And yet we do not conceal the fact that certain books of the Old Testament were by the ancient authors called apocryphal, and by the others ecclesiastical; in as much as some would have them read in the churches, but not advanced as an authority from which the faith is to be established. As Augustine also, in his De Civitate Dei, book 18, ch. 38, remarks that "In the books of the Kings, the names and books of certain prophets are cited"; but he adds that "They are not in the canon"; and that "those books which we have suffice unto godliness."
