Please Go To Church
We go to church for various reasons. Let me highlight five…
One, in church, you will be encouraged. Faith comes from hearing God’s Word (see Rom 10:17). The world is full of depressing news. A lot of the anxiety you harbor will be diffused by the Good News.
Two, in church, you can build a social support system. You become part of a community of people with similar values. Isolation leads to hopelessness. A sense of belonginess gives life meaning.
Three, in church, you will serve others. Our spiritual gifts are meant to serve others (see 1 Pet 4:10). Besides, fulfillment in life is achieved by what we do for others. We serve God by serving one another.
Four, in church, we pray and worship together. There’re times you’ll be too weak to pray for yourself. God honors the prayers of the church (see Matt 18:19). When we’re united, God commands blessings (see Ps 133).
Five, going to church is God’s command. Heb 10:25 tells us to meet as believers. And Jesus gave us one commandment – to love one another (see John 15:12). How can you say you love those you avoid meeting?
