1 John 1:1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, which we have seen with our eyes, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life...
Of the Word of Life, what have you heard, what have you seen with your own eyes, what have you looked upon, what have you handled with your own hands? What is the substance, the evidence, the proof of your interaction and interfacing with the Word of Life?
In our day, it has been and is quite easy to find a person or two who can confidently say that they read the scriptures daily and pray often, who are in almost every church service and participate in every other church activity. But were you to ask them what the substance of their conversation were, you would find them wanting. Are you one of those?
The claim to Christianity is not one of mere words, or of having crowds to testify of participation, but the reality of the experience of a relationship. the realness of a relationship with the Word of Life that carries weight and is evident and reflected in you. Your life becomes a testimony, your words carry the fragrance of your interaction with the Word of Life, your behaviour no less either. Your very being begins to resonate with the Word of Life and the world will have no choice but to know that you have heard, seen and handled the Word of Life.
The call to Christianity is a call to an intimate relationship with the Word of Life, the call to you today, is to let go of everything else, and pursue a real relationship with Him, even Jesus Christ, the Word of Life.
