MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: POWER OF THOUGHTS
READINGS: PROVERBS 23:7
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
As Brothers and Sisters in Christ we need to know the importance of our thoughts in our everyday life. We need to realise that our thoughts have the power to be constructive, where they enable us to overcome any critical situation, or Destructive where they can bind us and keep us in stagnation. Thoughts of weakness, defeat, and impossibility places a barrier in our way from reaching or achieving the goals in which we have set to succeed but rather than think these thoughts we should think positive and constructive thoughts which can enable us through our faith to overcome what we might see to be impossible. One example of this is when David, who was a young boy at the time, faced Goliath and because the armies of Israel were, as the bible described, too terrified to face Goliath David stood up having a positive mind saying that Goliath will end up like the dead lion and bear that came after his sheep. In the same way the extent of our vision, how far you see yourself progressing, will be the boundary of our blessing. AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: PRAY WITHOUT SEASON
READINGS:1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
As Christians its very vital in our everyday life that we pray as we face the devil and his forces everyday. Prayer is our sustenance and as children of God we represent God wherever we go so we shouldn't lead and mislead others into thinking that we can face all our challenges or obstacles ahead without prayer. Whether or not you feel tired or weak is still out of the question. When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane and was in anguish because of the fate he knew awaited him the Bible said that he prayed more earnestly(Luke 22:44). Prayer isn't something we should do once in a while but daily and without ceasing(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) for its the only way for God to become active in our everyday lives. AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: PLACING GOD FIRST
READINGS: MATTHEW 6:33
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
As we are in the start of the new year, we still must remember, as Christians to place God first in all that we do (Proverbs 3:6). Putting God first in the things we do is important for the more of ourselves we give to him the more he gives to us. He is ready to give more than we are to receive. We see that 1st Samuel 2:30 tells us that when we honor God he will honor us and its true. Therefore, can we, as Christians, make this new years resolution together, to put God first in everything we do and every decision that we make so we can walk in his way, truth, and life this new year. May God strengthen you to triumph over any obstacles and challenges you will face this year. AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: SEEING THE CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS
READINGS: MATTHEW 1: 18-25
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
As Christians, as we are heading towards Christmas, we must not forget to remember the true meaning for Christmas. We shouldn't just see Christmas as a day that we receive or give out presents. We must not forget the true gift of Christmas when God "gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John:16). We should remember also to share this news to others around us so they too can share in the true meaning of Christmas so that they can be saved and transformed by the passing of the old and the renewal of the new (2 Corinthians). AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: FAITH THROUGH PERSECUTION
READINGS: 1 SAMUEL: 1-28
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
We see in 1 Samuel: 1-28 that a man, Elkanah, had two wives Hannah and Peninnah. We see through the story that Hannah was grieved because she was being bullied by Peninnah about not having any children. Because of this we see that Hannah sorrowfully prayed and gave a promise, or a vow, to God that if he promises to give her a child then she would give the child onto him, and God kept his promise, and she gave birth to Samuel. We need to start to realise as Christians that just like Hannah we also will be mistreated or persecuted by others, but this isn't where we should give up. Even if you are being persecuted by others, HAVE FAITH and believe in your God. Have YOU forgotten that it is written in Deuteronomy 31:6to "be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you". Do not have hatred for those who do you wrong but rather pray for those who persecute you,(Matthew 5:44). As Christians we SHOULD NOT grieve when faced with persecution but rather STAND in FAITH that we can overcome any trial or persecution through Christ that strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME:THE ARMOUR OF GOD
READINGS: EPHESAINS : 6-14-17
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
Spiritual warfare takes place everyday of our lives. As we battle against the devil, and his minions, we need to make sure that we are properly equipped-"for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms".
As Christians, we should always be ready for battle for we know not when the thief shall come to "steal, kill and destroy"(John 10:10). If we properly dress before going for battle, there can be no weakness within our armour, for our weakness is turned to strength(2 Corinthians 12:10)when we put on the heavenly armour of God and we can therefore then "do all things through Christ that strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME:WEAKNESS IS STRENGTH
READINGS: 2 CORINTHIANS 12:7-9
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
As Christians we are often persecuted because of our faith in the lord. We might suffer many hardships, as we could face a hill today, only to find a mountain waiting tomorrow. Or we might be so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despair of life itself. But don't lose hope, accepting your weakness is accepting that you are one of the workmanships' of GOD, meaning to accomplish anything you need the sustaining power and grace from above. When the Lord Jesus told Paul that his "power is made perfect in weakness" (2Corinthians 12: 9), he did not mean that in its absence power was made nothing, God shows us through our weaknesses strength because it compels the soul to look beyond itself for answers and in doing so magnifies the sufficiency of divine grace in our lives to face any difficulty, challenge, or problem, because like the word says we move "from strength to strength", (Psalm 84:7). AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: TAKE HOLD OF YOUR BLESSINGS
READINGS: JEREMIAH 17:7-8
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
Some of us, as Christians still don't fully understand what God has promised us. In Jeremiah 29:11 it shows that God has a plan for everyone, to give them a prosperous future, this is because he blessed us and promised "goodness and mercy shall follow us".This can only take place when we have asked for it. God has planned out your future and has set everything in place for you. You might going through difficult situations in your life, thinking that God has abandoned you but he hasn't. He has given and placed everything out for you but because you didn't ask for it your not receiving your blessings. We need to stop thinking about what we need but rather ask for it. It says no where in the word to think and receive. God loves each and every one of us and as he said in 3 John 1:2 "he wishes above all things that we may prosper" so for this new week ahead of us lets demand our inheritance and take hold of our blessings by asking for them. AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: HELL IS REAL
READINGS: REVELATIONS 21:8
SERMON BY: JOHN JOHNSON
Sometimes as Christians we do go out and tell people about the word of God, and all the good things it can bring into their life, but don't realise that only telling them the benefits is only half the truth. We have to tell them about the downside of not choosing to be a Christian, how you can only be for God or for the Devil. It says in John 3:16 that "for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". God loved us so much that he sent his only son to die for us. Hell and eternal torment is not meant for us but for the Devil and his Angels. To accept God is to write your name in the book of life or else you will suffer eternal torment where there shall be "weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:12). So for this new week, as Christians, I urge you to tell others to invite Jesus Christ into your life right now and let Him write their names in the book of life. AMEN

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK
THEME: DECLARE YOUR RIGHT AS A CHILD OF GOD
READINGS: LUKE 1:1-18
SERMON BY: APOSTLE JOHN JOHNSON
We as Christians need to start realising that we are of God and are adopted to become his children. In John 1:12 the bible says that "to all that received him he gave the right to become children of God". This tells us that whatever is God's is also ours for we are his children. When someone tells you look like your Mother or Father it is often because of the way you speak ,act or you might look like them. Therefore as we are sons and daughters of God we need to walk in his footsteps, for in John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life", therefore in this new week ahead of us we must try to follow his way and live the life that he has taught us to live. AMEN
