AT THE VERGE

Elections-- so dreaded in my home country and yet, we can't do without. History is replete with the recurrence of the choice of men to lead and the results of our choices, history is detailed, as well. It is a very solemn work, for which we shall give accounts as well. We must be careful what choice we make with our thumb and minds.

December 7th, Ghana goes to the polls. For us as Seventh-day Adventists, it falls on the Holy Day of the Lord, but then the Bible doesn't bar us from exercising our civic responsibilities-- Jesus enjoined Peter to go fetch money from a fish to pay His tax and Peter's too. Paul in Romans 13 enjoins us to give honour to whom it's due. So I believe it's necessary to do so with circumspection and prayer. Remembering, as well, that we shall be accountable for whoever we choose to vote for or against.

It is a moment of sober reflection and prayer, not only for a peaceful and fair election, but that, as the Lord chose for Himself David to lead His people, one who is right and fit to lead should emerge as leader eventually. We are, truly, at the verge. May the Lord who sits in Heaven, yet intervenes in the affairs of men, find for Himself a worthy person for Ghana and for the United States; the latter more important by dint of her position in prophecy and revelation as the second beast.

God help us. God bless our homelands. God keep His Word. Amen

PAINS

Sometimes when my mind drifts off to focus on the hurts of yesterday and how they don't serve me, I tend to go through renewed pains, all over again. Who has done what or what is done by who...charleee it's a whole lot. But this morning, my mind interestingly chose to focus on how Christ goes through this same ordeal everyday, every second, from over 7 billion people...phewww..that must be a heavy cross to bear.

AD 31, Autumn, Thursday night..October, I think. And His own disciples who had walked with Him for a little over 3 years couldn't really appreciate what He was going through. Yeah, He had forewarned them but again, their sensual minds focused rather on who will be who or what position who will occupy...petty, innit? It got worse when He only came to find His supposed trusted confidantes sleeping when they (the outspoken Peter, especially) had vowed to remain with Him. Very painful.

I don't know if you've ever felt betrayed by a very close person and shuttered your trust in him/her or anyone else for that matter but, you know what, the Trinity go through this every second! Especially Jesus who actually had to have nails driven through His palm and feet, spear through His ribs, crown of thorns through His eye sockets. The pains all happened on that Thursday night when He felt betrayed by His own disciples. Man! They fled! They left Him to suffer!

What does this mean to us? Simple! Obedience, trust, faithfulness, love. You know, all these He gives us strength to do Himself. That's the nice thing about Christ, because He's a nice man.

God bless us all. Good day😊

MAGNETISM

We live in such a perverse world that it's become difficult to think good. Lives are twisted, lies are peddled, wickedness is perpetrated, s*x is cheap, marriages are crumbling, relationships are empty, and the list go on and on. But it was in similar situation and perversion that Enoch stood out. Looking at his son, born at the age of 65, with endearing trust and faith of a child, his own faith and trust in God grew to such height that God could not watch him wallow in this world and had to come for him. And so I'm anticipating to see him, Elijah and Moses, the only humans in the Heavens now, and ask them how they did it.

After all, Jesus was a fine man. Was he not tempted by the "curvature" of the women of His day? How was Elijah able to stand before Ahab with strong faith? And for Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, I will ask, "how dare you? Wow!". But guess what? These faiths are replicable and even can be bettered. Why? Because I am twice blessed; by the record of their lives and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Until then, let's do our bit. Improving on yesterday and living everyday as though it was our last day on earth, leading others to Christ and not from Christ. If I can't bring others to Christ, I dare not push them from Him. That will be a serious crime against divinity and humanity. Posterity is judging. Jesus is Lord.

DANA

It is truly refreshing the power of life and good, the gift of the sun and breeze, the offer of protection and care and the perseverance of grace and pardon. I see all these as gifts because of two reasons: primarily, I am undeserving (in fact, no one is) and that I am not better off than they who are bereft of these. And so, it takes nothing off me to be grateful and appreciative of these.

Truly, our hearts go out to the many families who have lost their loved ones, properties and livelihoods by the storm Dana in and around Valencia and Andalucia. It's pretty close and I feel closely what I used to see so far off. It's indeed tragic. We pray that help finds these families who are without water and electricity for days now. Find below SOS account for ADRA's relief account. Do spare something for these people.

But beyond the tears and heartaches, I find hope and the need to hasten the Lord's coming. Our world is only going to get worse and if we, as heralds, Adventists, don't do enough, we all die, us and the world, and painfully, the Lord's going to require their blood at our hands. We need fresh anointing.

Maranatha! Lord Jesus come!

SWEET MISTAKE

October 22, 1844? The world's forever grateful for what seemed so bad for a group of Adventists but today, a blessing. Eagerly anticipating the glorious appearance of our Lord Jesus, having studied all the prophecies and understanding (at least in their own estimation) the meaning of the 'cleansing of the Sanctuary' in Daniel 8:14 as the second coming of Christ (because they believed the Sanctuary to be the earth, then), all eyes turned to this faithful Tuesday (like it is this year) as the culmination of all the world entailed, bringing to an end the long history of sin, wickedness and pain. Heaven at last! But it was not to be! How painful that was. Many had sold their possessions and were now to live in poverty and want. But even this was prophesied in the Bible.

In Revelation 10:9&10, we see the depiction of John taking a book to eat, which tasted sweet in the mouth but sour in the belly. The Adventists had a great expectation. The Truth was very sweet in their mouth but the preceding incidence was so painful. But we today, as Protestants, as Adventists, are grateful for the faithfulness of these few individuals who, like the early Christians and Reformers (talk of Martin Luther, John Calvin and his compatriot, John Knox, the Waldenses, Huguenots) stood for the Truth even when the world opened its mouth to swallow them. Well, and indeed, did Christ prophecy through His servant, John, that the beast will seek to destroy the woman (the Adventist Church) by spilling water (people in masses) but the earth will swallow the water (pointing to the New Found Land, America, a beacon of Freedom and [Religious] Liberty which became a safe haven for these Puritans).

Posterity is ever grateful to William Miller, Mr and Mrs White and Family, the Bates, Hiram Edson, Joshua Himes who, though were left disappointed, but continued to carry on the torch of Truth, searching in the Scripture the entire Truth and, understanding that, like the first disciples of Christ, they were right on the date but wrong on the event. Their fervent prayer and Bible studies opened our eyes to great Truths about the Sanctuary Service, Pre Millennium, the Millennium and Post Millennium events, the Three Angels' Messages, the immutability of the Law, and the sacredness of the Holy Sabbath. Till we meet again, compatriots, rest on.

I am grateful to God to be a Seventh-day Adventist. May God make us better in upholding and guarding His Law and keeping it as we should. Are you molested and impeded as a Seventh-day Adventist, you're not the first and neither will you be the last. Till this heaven and earth pass, the dragon will not cease to harass the seeds of the woman. But rest assured, Christ has conquered him, both in Heaven and on earth. Gloria!!!!

Maranatha! Even so! Lord Jesus come!

REALITY

I grew hearing about Bible characters (Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Daniel, Elijah, among others) and I saw them as they sound, 'Bible characters'. But sometime now I have come to realise that these are not characters in a book as there are in the Harry Potter series, but these are real men and women who lived, ate, slept, cried, and above all, battled with sin. Some conquered the sin problem, others were conquered. I cant wait to hear them tell their stories to me, to see them and ask them questions. For example, how could David, haunted by Saul and having an opportunity to end his life, still choose to spare him? It doesnt make sense. Yet he did it. For example, how did the three Hebrew boys dare to stand before the then emperor to voice against his command? How dare they? See, it will be an interesting experience.

Until then, just like they did, I also have to live my life on this earth. Leave behind dots made by my feet, leave behind a legacy and, perhaps, another generation to read of me and say, "how did he?". Until then, I'll keep fighting my battles, I'll keep falling and standing up again. I'll keep failing and learning again. I'll keep up with my God because the journey is still before us.

If you see this, I say, stay with God and keep being faithful. Keep learning from your weaknesses. One day, we shall meet on the street of gold, hand in hand with Adam to the banquet where we shall be served by Christ Himself. Until then, shalom! Paz! Asomdwoe!

MARANATHA!
I just watched a video of my nephew being baptized in a stream or river (I don't know sef) and I was saddened. Not that I'm not happy for him (all Heaven is exicited for the salvation of a soul, how much less I mere mortal. I'm super excited for the family of God in Heaven and on earth). But I quickly commented, "the water! eishh! Galamsey!" How can the heart of man be this wicked and callous! How did we get here?

When Addo D claimed to put his presidency on the line for this fight, was he, like a typical politician, playing a fool on the masses? God help us.

Looking at the state of water bodies in Ghana, will you begrudge a person resisting baptism? The church should devise means, perhaps baptisteries in the local auditoriums. Then we can solve the problem half way. Yet, there are also some in our midst who wont take baptism when it's not in a running water. What do we do with such individuals too? Because they too are the sons and daughters of Abraham and deserve baptism. Lord help us.
Now de3 we need hasten His coming ooo.
A heartbroken soul 😢

The strength of man is in admitting where he falls short, where he is weak and where he needs improve.
The strength of man is in helping others, avoiding judging others and striving to live peacefully with all men.
The strength of man is seeking to be better today, than he was yesterday.
Make us strong💪

Depression is real and more and more are struggling to cope. Much difficult now to find help when it appears we are a 'Global Village'. In a era of social media that seems to bring us closer together, we are, in fact, more separated than ever. A person suffering is probably a call or text away. I know this cos I have lived through it. We need us together!!!
