SERMON BY REV EMMANUEL AKE
THEME: KNOWING JESUS AND MAKING HIM KNOWN AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR.
TEXT: ACTS 2:36, MATT 16:13-16
NOTES: Before you can testify of someone, you have to know the person. You must know the totality of the person. You must know how the person handles issues. If you don't really know the person, you may testify and realised that it was a false testimony. Before your testimony can be credible you have to get closer to the person and know the person well.
Before you can testify about Jesus and His power, you have to know Him. Peter said, *"you are The Christ, The Son of The Living God."* As we go about proclaiming the gospel, we have to know God well. During the times of the Apostles, there were four areas they all agreed upon in knowing Jesus:
*1. Jesus as the Saviour."* Before you can testify about Jesus you must know Him as saviour. (Acts 4:12). Salvation cannot be found in any president, neither any king. Salvation can only be found in Jesus. He has saved our souls from idol worship, from demons and every other thing. He has saved us from our sins and He can save others from their sins. (John 3:16)
*2. Jesus as The Healer."* He heals us of all our sickness and spiritual problem that we have. So when you go out and you meet someone in a depraved situation, you must minister Jesus onto the person. Sometimes people will be on the verge of committing su***de and when Jesus is ministered onto them, He heals them. Jesus can heal the broken hearted. And open the prison doors. No matter how broken you are, Jesus can heal you. May The Lord heal your soul and revive your soul. Sometimes we find it difficult to smile because we are going through problems. Know that Jesus is able to heal you. When you experience Jesus as The Healer, you are able to testify about Him as a Healer.
*3. Jesus as the Baptizer."* They knew that Jesus had the power to revive them and baptize them with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes you will feel down but when you come to church, you hear the word of God and you feel in your spirit that you have been revived.(Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8). Jesus gives us power. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations of traditional or fe**sh threatening but when The Holy Spirit is in ur we don't fear such things. When the power of the Lord comes upon you, you can do great things. Knowing Jesus means you must know Him as The person who gives power. The power Jesus gives is a supernatural power.
*4. Jesus as the soon coming King."* Jesus is The King of Kings and He is coming again to rule. (Acts 1:11). Jesus will come again as our King, as our Comforter.
As we go about our daily activities, let us know Jesus as our Saviour, as our healer, as our Baptizer, and as our soon coming King.
May God help us to know Him more and testify about Him.
God bless Pastor Emmanuel Kwasi Ake for a great and timely message.
