THE AUTHORITY OF THE WORD
Keep looking at the Word of God, until you can see God in His Word. It is when you had seen God in His Word that the Word of God is formed in you.
Scripture says, "Until Christ is formed in you..." (Galatians 4:19). Christ being formed in you, simply means the Word of God being formed in you. For the Word of God is Christ (John 1:1).
It is when the Word of God is formed in you that Christ is formed in you, and that is when you can speak with the authority of Christ. For you cannot use what you don't have, neither can you vomit what you had not eaten.
It is one thing to speak the right word, and another thing to speak it with the needed authority. What makes the words of your mouth not to fall to the ground (1Samuel 3:19) is not just in speaking the right words, it is rather in speaking them with the needed authority.
The seven sons of Sceva spoke the right words by trying to cast out devils in the Name of Jesus, but they lacked the needed authority that was meant to back those words, and so, their words actually fell to the ground, which was why the demons they went to cast out pounced on them and inflicted injuries on them (Acts 19:15-16). For Christ had not being formed in them at the place of meditating on God's Word.
You cannot be operating by the authority of God outside the Word of God. One of the ways to know a false prophet is that he claims to operate by what he calls "the authority of God", but outside the Word of God.
When the demon in the seven sons Sceva was talking, he said, "Paul I know, Jesus I know..."(Acts 19:15). What that demon was trying to say was that he recognized the authority in Christ, which was also the authority in Paul, who was the man in whom Christ had been formed. For Paul would meditate on God's Word on the Island of Arabia (Galatians 1:17) until Christ was formed in him as the Word of God.
In the spirit realm, we all as children of God have one authority, which is same as the authority of Christ Himself. That was why Jesus talking in the scripture said He had given us His authority (Luke 10:19). Meaning that the same way that Jesus exercised authority over devils, sicknesses, death, and even nature, while He was on earth, is the same way we as children of God should exercise authority on earth!
When scripture talks about horn, it connotes authority. When it comes to spiritual authority, the horn of the unicorn is what the scripture used to connote the authority we have in God. Which was why scripture said your horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn (Psalm 92:10).
The horn of the unicorn was used in that context because the unicorn is the animal with one horn. And in Christ, we all have one authority, which is what the horn signifies.
The authority of the Word of God inside of you is what you release by the words you speak. Jesus is the Word of God Himself, and that was why He could speak from a distant place, and Jairus' daughter was healed in her far away home (Luke 8:41-56). Because in the spirit realm, authority doesn't respect distance.
Even the centurion understood that authority is exercised via spoken words, that was why he could say, "I am a man under authority, I tell this one, 'Go' and he goes; and that one, 'Come' , and he comes(Matthew 8:9).
But if the centurion didn't have authority, his words would have meant nothing. They would have left no impact. The glory of every spoken word is in the authority backing it!
I was in a far away city when I was called upon to pray for someone on phone. The person was diagnosed with three different life - threatening diseases at once. A simple prayer on phone by the authority of God's Word healed him, and got him out of the hospital!
