EL-Bethel Methodist Church, Lakeside Estate Society Visits Nsawam Prisons
As part of its 10th Anniversary celebrations, the EL-Bethel Methodist Church, Lakeside Estate Society, paid a visit to the Nsawam Medium Security Prison as one of the key activities outlined in its anniversary programme.
The visit provided an opportunity for members of the Society to fellowship with inmates and share the love of Christ through worship, prayer, and the preaching of God’s Word.
The Society Minister, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Mensah, delivered a sermon during the event, encouraging the inmates to remain hopeful and steadfast despite their circumstances. He reminded them of God’s unfailing love, grace, and forgiveness, and urged them to embrace positive transformation and look forward to a brighter future.
At the altar call following the sermon, 30 inmates responded by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, marking a significant spiritual highlight of the outreach.
In addition to the spiritual ministration, the Society donated food items, clothing, toiletries, and other assorted items, estimated at GHS 35,000, to support the welfare of the inmates. The gesture was warmly received by both the prison authorities and the inmates, who expressed their appreciation for the kindness and concern shown to them.
Speaking during the visit, Rev. Dr. Mensah emphasized the Church’s mission of reaching out to all people, especially those who may feel forgotten or marginalized. He reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to demonstrating Christ’s love through practical acts of service and compassion.
The outreach forms part of EL-Bethel Methodist Church, Lakeside Estate Society’s efforts to impact lives positively within the community while commemorating a decade of God’s faithfulness and blessings upon the Society.
Also in attendance were Sis. Constance Owusu Acheampong (Connexional Lay Movement Honorary Treasurer), the Stewards, representatives of the various organizations within the Society, and other members of the congregation.
