[It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Beloved, When you find yourself being consumed by
worry, full of doubt, thinking it’s never going to work out, recognize what’s happened and put your anchor back down. Quit dwelling on the negative thoughts. You may have had some bad breaks, but that doesn’t mean you’re not going to fulfill your destiny. Shake off the self-pity, shake off the disappointment. What God promised you, He’s still going to bring to pass.

Revelation 3: 20. "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

THEME: "OPEN YOUR HEART FOR JESUS TO DWELL IN IT."
The Heart of man is the Center or Deepest part of his being, where all forms of Thoughts, Desires, and Decisions are formed.

** The Heart is a great Mysterious Depth which only God can know.

** Jeremiah 17: 9- 10 says: "The heart is Deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to Reward a man according to his Conduct, according to what his deeds deserve."

According to the above Scripture; If you are Not Careful, your heart may deceive you, and you will think that you are a good Christian, so Christ Lives in your heart.

** This happened to the Laodicean Church.

** They thought that because of their Financial and Material Possessions, they were Right with the Lord.

** They didn't know that Christ was NOT dwelling in/among them.

** Christ Knocked at the Door of their Hearts, but they were so busy to open their hearts for Him to dwell in them, because they were Enjoying Worldly Pleasures.

** Please, NOTE that, Financial and Material Possessions are Not evil. But they can be very Dangerous, because their Temporary Satisfaction makes many People (Christians) Unconcerned for God's Offer of Lasting Satisfaction.

Note this:
** If you find yourself feeling UNCONCERNED to Church, to God, or to the Bible, you have begun to Shut God out of your Life (Heart).

** Jesus Christ still standing at the Door of your Heart knocking.

Please, leave the door of your Heart Constantly Open to Him, and He will dwell in you and you will have eternal Joy.

1 Timothy 5: 20. "Those Who Sin are to be Rebuked Publicly, so that the others may take Warning."

THEME:. "THE PURPOSE OF CHURCH DISCIPLINE."
We learned last week that Church Discipline is Very very Important, because it is a way through which God Corrects his Children.

Today we are looking at the PURPOSE OF CHURCH DISCIPLINE.
** The LORD has ORDERED the Church to Discipline the Members who Commits Sin, for the following Reasons.

(1). So that the others may take Warning.(So that the others may Not Commit the same error). 1Tim. 5: 20.

(2). To Correct a Wrong Situation.

(3). To Restore the fallen one. (Galatians 6: 1).

(4). To Maintain the good Testimony/ Name of the Church.

(5). To Share in the Holiness of God. (Hebrews 12 :10).

(6). To Produce a Harvest of Righteousness and Peace. (Hebrews 12: 11).
** Please, take time and Read all the Bible Quotations.
** Proverbs 10: 17 says:. "He who heeds Discipline Shows the Way to life, but whoever Ignores Correction leads others astray.

** Again; Proverbs 12: 1 says: "Whoever Loves Discipline Loves Knowledge, but he who Hates Correction is Stupid."

** I am Concluding this Topic by Quoting from Hebrews 12: 5 -6
"........ My son, do not make light of the Lord's Discipline, and do Not loose heart when he Rebukes you, because the LORD Disciplines those He Loves, and He Punishes everyone He Accepts as a Son."

Revelation 3: 19. "Those whom I Love I Rebuke and Discipline. So be earnest, and Repent."

THEME: "THE LORD DISCIPLINES HIS CHILDREN."

We saw yesterday that, Discipline is a way through which God Corrects his Children. And we saw from the book of Hebrews 12 that; God Disciplines us for our good. He wants us to share his holiness, and Produce a Harvest of Righteousness and Peace.

** Is Church Discipline Relevant/ Important today?
The Answer is YES.

** Since God Loves His Church, and He don't want his Children to Spoil; He has given the Church Authority to Discipline (Punish) the Members who are going Wayward (Committing evil).

** 1 Timothy 5: 20 says: "Those Who Sin are to be REBUKED PUBLICLY, so that the others may take Warning."

** 2 Thessalonians 3 : 14 also tells us that: "If anyone does Not Obey our Instruction in this letter, take Special Note of him. Do not Associate with him, in order that he may feel Ashamed."

** Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 5 : 11 also says: "But now I am writing you that you must Not Associate with Anyone Who calls himself a Brother but is Sexually Immoral or greedy, an Idolator or a Slander, a Drunkard or a Swindler. With such a man do Not even eat."

** All the Above Scriptures, and many others tells us that the Church Should Not Overlook the sins that some members are Committing. The Church should take a Disciplinary Action against them; so that the others may take Warning.

Please NOTE: God, our Heavenly Father Disciplines us, because He Loves us.

** Any Pastor (Father of the Local Church), who Fails to Discipline his members for their evil doings, Does Not Love them.

** Proverbs 13: 24 says:. "He who Spares his rod hates his son, but he who LOVES him is Careful to Discipline him."

** Secondly, a Pastor who does Not Disciplines his Members helps them to Spoil.

** Proverbs 23: 13, 14 tells us that: "Do Not withhold Discipline from a Child; If you Punish him with the rod, he will Not die.
Punish him with the rod and Save His Soul from Death."

My dear, have you seen how Helpful and Important Church Discipline is?

** If you are doing Wrong thing, and the Church Disciplines you, Please, Humble yourself and Serve the Discipline; because it is for your good.

** May the LORD bless you and be with you.

3: 19. "Those whom I Love I Rebuke and Discipline. So be earnest, and Repent."

THEME: "THE LORD DISCIPLINES (PUNISHES) LUKEWARM CHRISTIANS."

We have learned that the LORD will REJECT every Christian who continue to be Lukewarm.
We see from our text today, How God Loves His Children, that He don't want anyone to be Rejected (destroyed).

Therefore, He takes a DISCIPLINARY measures to Correct (Punish) His Children (Christians) who are going Wayward, so that He will bring them back to do the Right thing (to Himself).

** What is DISCIPLINE?
** It is Correcting a Person from his Wrongdoing, through Punishment, and bring him back to the Rightful place.
** If you a Lukewarm Christian, or If your Christian Life is Not good, God Himself will Discipline (Punish) you, until you Repent and do the Right thing.

NOTE:. God's Purpose in Discipline is Not just to punish you. But to bring you back to Himself.
** He does this through some Punishment; He allows you to go through some Afflictions, Hardships, Pain, and Trials. So that you will come to your senses and Repent from your Wrongdoing.

** Hebrews 12: 6 - 11 says: "Because the LORD Disciplines those He Loves, and He Punishes everyone He Accepts as a son........ No Discipline seems pleasant at the time, but Painful. Later on, however, it Produces a Harvest of Righteousness and Peace for those who have been trained by it." (Please read the Scripture).
** My dear, are going through a lot of Afflictions, Hardships, Trials and Difficulties?

** Please Check your life.
** It may be that you are a LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN.
May the LORD be with you and Restore you, in the name of Jesus Christ.
