CATCH UP THE SERMON BY DCN. PRINCE BOAKYE: ABOUNDING IN EVERY GOOD WORK THROUGH GOD’S PROVISION
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:8
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
CENTRAL MESSAGE
God does not bless us merely so that we can consume. He blesses us so that we can become a blessing.
The prayer today should not only be:
“Lord, give me money.”
It should also be:
“Lord, give me the capacity to create wealth, the wisdom to manage it, the opportunities to multiply it, and the heart to use it for good.”
1. GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ABUNDANCE
Paul says:
“God is able to make all grace abound toward you.”
Notice the first thing: God is able.
Our circumstances may say, “It is impossible.”
Our background may say, “You don’t have the connections.”
Our bank account may say, “There isn’t enough.”
But God’s ability is greater than our present condition.
The Bible says in Philippians 4:19:
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
God’s provision can come through many channels:
* Employment
* Business
* Agriculture
* Education
* Skills
* Innovation
* Investments
* Contracts
* Partnerships
* Ideas
* Opportunities
* People God brings into our lives
We must therefore stop limiting God’s provision to miracles that fall from heaven.
Sometimes the miracle is an idea.
Sometimes the miracle is a skill.
Sometimes the miracle is a connection.
Sometimes the miracle is an opportunity.
Sometimes the miracle is the courage to start.
2. GOD WANTS US TO HAVE SUFFICIENCY
The Scripture says:
“Always having all sufficiency in all things…”
God’s desire is not that His children should perpetually live in financial desperation.
There is a difference between poverty as a temporary condition and poverty becoming a permanent mindset.
Young people especially must understand this.
You cannot spend your whole life praying for someone to give you money.
At some point you must pray:
“Lord, make me productive.”
Pray:
“Give me an idea.”
“Give me wisdom.”
“Give me skills.”
“Give me discipline.”
“Give me opportunities.”
“Teach me how to manage money.”
“Give me the courage to start something.”
Because sometimes what we call a financial problem is actually a capacity problem.
And God can increase our capacity.
