Why God commands us not to commit adultery

But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. Proverbs 6:32

When the husband of the home becomes adulterous, it drains the finances of the home. The truth is, he will not have enough money to cater for the expenses of the home and other important projects for the family. The reason is, he will be spending a portion of his money on another woman and her needs. This is how he will never have enough money to spend on his own home. These men struggle to pay their children school fees, and so cannot cater for them adequately as they ought to.

Adultery is a major cause of conflict in the home. Some wife's may constantly have conflicts/quarrels with their husbands when they start suspecting them of cheating with another woman. Husbands react even more angrily when they catch their wives in such a disgraceful compromise. Because of the gravity of a woman commiting adultery, it is the only grounds upon which the word of God permits a man to walk out of the marital union. The scripture says: one cannot divorce for any other reason except for s*xual immorality. Matthew 19:9,10.

When a man and a woman marry, they become one flesh. This is sealed by a blood covenant from the day they have s*x. Through s*x, they exchange blood and so enter into blood covenant, to be of one flesh until death do them apart. When they start commiting adultery, they enter into blood covenant with other partners. Spiritually, this drains and contaminate their marital union. Physically they may be together as husband and wife, but emotionally and spiritually, they become attached/attracted to other partners. This brings confusion into the marriage and expose them to every evil thing/attack.

Adultery may also lead to unwanted and unplanned children, who are born to suffer for no fault of theirs. Most husbands hide extramarital relationships with the women they commit adultery with. For this reason, they also hide the children when they are born. These children become unwanted/because they are like children of thieves. Thus in their life time, they turn to lack father's/mother's love, care and adequate financial support. Many at times, they are like outcasts whombno one wants to see. The Children become even more disadvantaged when they are from an adulterous wife. No man tolerates such a thing. Thus they divorce and send such wife's out of their marital homes. Because there is not another home to go to, they walk into suffering with their outcast children. This is how innocent children suffer for sins their fathers and mothers commits against them. So you see why adultery is more grievous than fornication; because the implications are far too much. Have a blessed day!

Adultery may be defined as s*x outside marriage, whereas fornication is either s*xual immorality or s*x between unmarried people.

Because adultery is a form of fornication, it carries all the negative implications of s*xual immorality and even more. The consequences of adultery compared to fornication is more because it affects the peace of the home and especially the children in that union.

In God's wisdom, marriage is supposed to be a union where the wife must help/complement the husband to run a peaceful home. It is also to raise the next responsible generation who are the children. Sad to write, adultery disturbs the peace and tranquility of the home, quickly turning it into a chaotic environment. Once this happens, there ceases to be harmony, peace and corporation. Thus the marriage which is supposed to be two coming together to become one flesh, becomes fragmented. It is this disunity that drains the prosperity of the home. This is because, the marriage couple ceases to be of one mind and purpose. This goes a long way to affect the children because, there ceases to be corporation to lead them in the right way. In the midst of such conflict/acrimony, the children are taught bad morals and insults, rather than the right way to grow and live. This is why the word of God commands us not to commit adultery, because, it ruins God's purpose for raising a godly kind of home.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18

S*x outside marriage is the reason why there is so much pain, broken hearts, many single mothers/fathers, lot's of street, orphans, homeless and vagabond children. These are the children who grow up to become a danger to our society.

Marriage was created by God, so that the wife will help the husband to cater for the home and children. Genesis 2:18. This is why single mothers and fathers suffer because, raising up children was only meant for marriage couples and not single parents.

The word of God command us not to engage in s*xual immorality before marriage. Flouting this commandment has led most women who thought the men will marry them, to feel used and disappointed. Sometimes it ends up in unwanted pregnancies, which leads to single mother/father situation. Often, the man/woman may be forced to marry a partner he/she do not really love because of an unwanted pregnancy.

No relationship guarantees marriage, although that is the usual expectation. This is why most women feel used by men when they are disappointed. They give up their bodies in expectation for marriage. However, most men use and dump these vulnerable women. This is why the word of God commands us not to fornicate before marriage. It is all meant to shield us from harm/broken hearts.

Fornication also breeds s*xual transmitted diseases (STD'S) such as Chancroid (bacteria infection), Chlamydia (s*xually transmitted), Cytomegali (viral transmission), HIV (immune deficiency) Gonorreah (bacteria STI), Hepatitis B (liver inflammation), Crab(public lice), Ge***al herpes, Trichomoniasis, Human pappilomavirus, Scabies etcetera . These are terrible diseases (some incurable) that awaits/infect those who indulge in fornication. This is why the word of God command us not to fornicate because, the associated problems are too many. Have a blessed day!
