Assemblies of God,Ghana Nungua District holds Back-to-School Reading Fair........................................................................................................................................................................................................

The Assemblies of God,Ghana Nungua District Children’s Ministries has organised a Back-to-School Reading Fair aimed at encouraging children to develop a lasting passion for reading.
The event, held at the Liberty International School in Klagon, featured a reading of “From Tears to Triumph: The Little Orphan” authored by Mamaga Delasi. The story promotes resilience, kindness, and love. Each child received a complimentary copy of the book.
Bible verse games
Alongside the reading session, pupils participated in spelling competitions and Bible verse games, with winners receiving prizes such as exercise books, stationeries among others. The programme also included prayer sessions and evangelism activities.
District Representative for the Children’s Ministries, Miss Angela Sun-Ledi, explained that the initiative was designed to motivate children to study diligently while relying on God for strength and guidance.
She noted that in recent times many children spend hours on screens and tablets “without using them for anything useful,” stressing that reading provides a healthier and more productive alternative.
Experiences
Some of the children shared personal experiences of how reading has positively influenced their lives.

A teacher from Liberty International School, Mr David Mensah, praised the initiative and urged that similar programmes be held regularly to help improve literacy and learning among children.

The fair also served as an outreach activity, with organisers reminding pupils of God’s love and offering prayers with them before closing the event.

Children’s Teachers in Nungua District Empowered at Training Conference.....................................................................................................................................

Children’s Ministry teachers within the Nungua District have been inspired and equipped to better serve the next generation, following a day-long conference organized by the Nungua District Representative, Angela Sun-Ledi. The event, held at Greater Grace Assemblies of God in Klagon, aimed at strengthening the capacity of teachers to effectively nurture and disciple children for God's glory.

The conference featured Rev. Mrs. Comfort Wilson-Marfo, the National Director of Assemblies of God, Ghana Children's Ministries, as a keynote speaker. She emphasized the importance of thorough preparation before teaching children, urging teachers to take their roles seriously, as children's spiritual growth depends on their dedication and readiness.

Mr. Humphrey Hooper, a representative of 1 for 50, also spoke at the event, stressing the need for continuous training for children’s ministry facilitators. He noted that those who teach children are essentially discipling them and must be well-equipped for the task.

Mr. Augustin Abieku Turkson, a children’s minister, shared how impactful the training was, stating that it would also help the church support parents in raising godly children. He emphasized that empowering teachers ultimately strengthens families and the church as a whole.

The conference left participants motivated and better prepared to shape the spiritual lives of children within the district and beyond.

Nungua District Assemblies of God Holds Joint Service to Promote Unity

The Nungua District of Assemblies of God Ghana held a joint service today, bringing together local churches in the district for a time of worship and fellowship. While these churches usually meet in zones at designated centers such as Living Praise, His Presence, and Glory Chapel, today’s gathering was aimed at fostering unity and advancing a common goal.

As the District Representative for Children’s Ministries, I worshiped and served at Dominion Worship Center, where local churches like Temple of Praise and Gospel House convened for the service. It was a great opportunity to minister to the children at the children's church, ensuring they also had a fulfilling worship experience.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all children's ministry teachers who dedicated their time and effort to serve at the various centers today. Your commitment to nurturing and guiding the next generation in Christ is invaluable. May God bless you abundantly.

Long live Assemblies of God Ghana! Long live the Nungua District!
