”Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living.“

Amos‬ ‭5‬:‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The expectation and demand from the supreme God of the universe is to sit in heaven and watch his creation render a heartfelt and true worship to Him alone and neglect vain worship which leads to the coming judgment.

From the above Bible scripture, the writer Amos was a man of God, a person whose lifestyle reflected his devotion for God but was a layman. He lived in obedience to God’s commandments and instructions knowing the benefits of doing what is right in the sight of God and the consequences of doing what is wrong and evil. Today Amos message from the scriptures has impacted God’s people throughout the centuries and since God does not change, God expects the same Godly lifestyle experience from us. “An endless river of righteous living” from today’s devotion simply means that God wants his people or Christians to live a truthful and obedient life without fail though we may fall sometimes. But the desire that comes from a genuine heart to do what is right in the sight of God is the most important part of our Christian lifestyle since God himself declared in his Bible in Jeremiah 17:10 which says;

”But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”

“I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” From Jeremiah 17:10 speaks about the final coming judgment where Jesus Christ himself will judge and reward everyone. It will be a time of mighty flood of justice before Jesus Christ the son of the living God. As you read the Bible scripture in Amos, put yourself in the place of those Israelites who listened and obeyed God’s instructions making sure that everything you do glorify God and you will escape eternal condemnation.

As we have entered the second quarter of 2024 and this new month of May, picture yourself as Amos, faithfully doing what God calls you to do and listen for God’s clear call and do what he says, wherever it leads from a genuine and faithful heart of true worship.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father I come before your presence and ask for grace to do what is right and righteous in your sight. Help me to let my Christian lifestyle reflect my true devotion with you from a heart of true worship in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

OIL TO FINISH
(Oil for Presence)


“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.””
Gen 28:15

The LORD met Jacob and reminded him that HE was the GOD of both Abraham and Isaac. GOD then told Jacob that HIS presence would be with him and he would inherit the land — HE had previously made the same promise to Abraham and Isaac. As descendants of Abraham through Christ Jesus, we are beneficiaries of this promise.

The fact that GOD was with him and had a definite plan for his future should give meaning and confidence to you and your entire household. GOD reminds us in the verse above that HE will not leave us until HE has done what HE promised us. In other words, until you see the manifestation of the Word of GOD, HE will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joseph’s story is another example. Even though Joseph was in prison, the LORD was with him (Genesis 39:20-21). You may have gone through tough times this year but as you have evidently seen, the presence of GOD has always been with you.

GOD promises to never leave you nor forsake you. Rather, HIS presence shall continually be with you.

As you’ve seen the start of November, you will see the end of 2023. The presence of GOD is with you and your household, hence you shall finish the year well in Jesus' name! Amen
