“Do all things without complaining” (Phil 2:14)

It sounds difficult does it not? Perhaps if we knew the benefits of the invitation of Paul, we would be motivated to respond.

First he says “do” without complaining. In other words instead of complaining, do something about what you are complaining about, no matter how little and significant. That moves us a bit forward that remaining where we are crying over spilt milk as the saying goes.

Second, to focus on action instead of complaining is to choose to stay positive or better still hopeful. There would always be something to complain about, in the same way there would always be something to be grateful for. Hence, to complain is to choose to be a pessimist instead of a person of hope.

Third, when you complain you level of gratitude diminishes. If you can’t see God things how can you be grateful. And worse still: it is impossible to satisfy an ungrateful person because he would always find something (even if it’s not there) to complain about.

Let’s join the queue of gratitude 😊
