The Directorate has the following responsibilities:-
• Provides programme support for advocacy interventions of the Conference;
• Closely monitors and updates the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference through the Executive Secretary of the Department and the Secretary General on all governance, justice and peace matters in the country.
• Promotes the dissemination of the Social Teaching of the Church in collaboration with Catholic Social Action Groups such as the Lawyers’ Guild, the Centre for Human development (CEHUD), the Knighthood Forum, the Catholic Association of Media Practitioners, Ghana (CAMP-G), etc.
• Facilitates and coordinates programmes of the Just and Peace Commission (JPC) in Ghana and hosts the Secretariat of the Commission;
• Engages and liaises with commissions, agencies, departments, bodies and organizations in and outside the country;
• Facilitates the Church’s voice and values on Civil Society Platform in ensuring the principles of accountability, transparency and stewardship in the management of public goods and service delivery for the common good;
Assists and supports the Bishops’ Conference to effectively influence policy development in the country on the basis of the Social Teaching of the Church
