THE “CATHEDRAL”- A SHRINE TO THANK AN UNKNOWN GOD
The attention of the Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku has been drawn to a publication circulating on social media on the above subject, purporting to have been authored by him, as a response to alleged statements made by Mr Ken Ofori Atta, Minister for Finance, during a discussion on Sunday the 12th of June 2022 on GTV’s current affairs programme ‘Talking Point’ relating to the “National Cathedral”.
We would like to put on record without equivocation or contradiction that the said article, which appears to have gone viral, is not authored by the Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku. He has not made any pronouncement, granted any interview, or in anyway directly or indirectly, verbally or in writing, personally or through an agent, assign or representative commented on the on going debate or discussions relating to the construction, funding etc of the National Cathedral.
It is instructive to indicate, and worthy of notice that
1. The name of the alleged author of the said articles is very different from name of the Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku in spelling, although they may, perhaps, be pronounced the same way.
2. The alleged author of the said article is a Ghanaian residing in Australia whiles the Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku permanently resides in Ghana
3. The alleged author is NOT a Reverend Minister of the gospel as the Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku is, and widely known for.
4. None of the social media handles of the Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku has published the said article or write up on the subject.
The Rev’d. Dr. (Hon.) Nii Amoo Darku, a retired Senior Baptist Minister, and a statesman, having served as an Honourable Member of the Council of State of the Republic, by this notice to the general public, distances himself from the viral article and appeals to the public to disassociate him, his office, and ministries from the said circulating article and discussions relative to the construction of the National Cathedral.
Thank you!
