*NONE IS LIKE UNTO OUR GOD*
Exodus 15:11
*”Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders.”*
Following the uniqueness and incomparability parting of the Red Sea, the verse of scripture praises Yahweh as unparalleled among "gods," highlighting His supreme holiness, awesome glory, and active, miraculous power in delivering His people. This verse serves as a declaration of God’s sovereignty over false deities and his power to perform miracles.
"Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?": A rhetorical question asserting there is no one comparable to God, often understood as challenging false idols or pagan deities.
"Glorious in Holiness": Highlights God's perfect moral purity, set-apart nature, and unique divine majesty.
"Fearful in Praises” Suggests God is worthy of deep reverence and awe, inspiring worship that is profound and trembling
“Doing wonders” Reminds that God actively intervenes in history with miraculous acts, such as the Exodus deliverance.
The phrase “Who is like you” is central to the verse, with related phrases emphasizing: supreme, singular, matchless, majestic, radiant, set-apart, glorious, awesome, mighty, miraculous, dreadful (in the sense of commanding awe).
Powerfully, the verse is often used in hymns and Jewish prayers (known as the Mi Kamocha prayer) to celebrate God's deliverance and power. This illustrates the distinction between the God of Israel and other perceived powers, such as money, fame, or idols. And serves to encourage faith during trials, reminding believers to rely on the same God who performed miracles in the past.
*I pray for you, anything challenging the power of God in your life and destiny goes down now!*
