GOD WHO SHOWS MERCY

_“What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”_
‭‭[Romans‬ ‭9:14-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

Simply put, God is eternally Just and there is no unrighteousness with Him; He shows mercy to whom He pleases. One must note that, God works according to purpose. God and His purpose are inseparable and His interest has always been the purpose.

God chose and loved Jacob before he was born. His love for Jacob was not dependent of what he did nor what he(Jacob) would do but according to God’s purpose. He had always known Jacob would become Israel. Israel is God’s own portion; His inheritance through whom He would demonstrate His love and might to the nations.

So He says: “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”
‭‭[Romans‬ ‭9:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

The question is, was Israel by himself more righteous and better than any other nation? No! Did God show him mercy? Yes!
The truth is, Israel tempted God severally in the wilderness. He even provoked God to anger in the wilderness several times. The Children of Israel murmured, complained and sinned against God in the wilderness.

How serious was their sin?
Read this:
“Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.”
‭‭[Hebrews‬ ‭3:10-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]
That was their penalty!

However, when the Israelites came up against their adversary as they sojourned to the promise land, God again showed up and had mercy on them. A prophet was hired by the king of Moab to curse the children of Israel for he (Balak) dreaded the Israelites.

But this was the Word of God through hired prophet Balaam:
“God has not observed iniquity in Jacob nor has He seen wickedness(sin) in Israel. The Lord his God is with him...”

This is called the favor; the lovingkindness; and tender mercies of God. And He shows this mercy to whosoever He wishes. It is the underserving favor of God that can turn a sinful nation like Israel to a righteousness one and align him to His purpose.

He is able to cover up your sins and nakedness with the garment of righteousness mercifully. ( Ezekiel 3:1-5). Pls read.

So what do we do:
Simple! “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
[‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

Hallelujah!

THE PRE-EMINENCE OF THE WORD

*lBut we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.‭‭[II Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

_"... beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord..."_
The preceding phrase explains what people in the Kingdom of God ought to do; it explains our relationship with God's Word and the effect thereof. The Word of God has tremendous power to transform any man who earnestly contemplate it.

Paul explains the character and nature of the the believer after they have passed from death to life. He started by saying, "I urge you, my brothers and sisters in the view of God's mercy, that you present your body as a sacrifice... " Romans 12:1.
In the verse 2, he instructs: " Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed... "

You see, people who want to deceive and prey on your Superstitious mind would keep feeding you with some more superstition to tie you down to their whims. They will make sure they steal everything that looks "godly" in you and replace it with the worldly view of God's kingdom. Your liberty to the supernatural is in the Word only.

John's Testimony
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬
"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life."( Ref John 1:1-12)
The Word that comes from God and is worthy of believing is JESUS Christ.

John says, He (the Word) was from the beginning. In fact, all things were made by Him and without Him, nothing was made that was made (NKV of John 1:1-3). And Paul emphasized, *"He is the essence of life, and in the fullness of the dispensation of time, He would gather all (visible and invisible) things to Christ [Eph. 1:10].

There is a man who was and is and is to come in revelations. When John saw Him, he felt down flat as one who is dead. The glory was so intense that, he could not stand on his feet to behold the majestic splendor and glory of heaven. His name is "The Word of God".

People of God, the prophetic word by the man of God Amos concerning the last days was that, " The earth will be filled with the knowledge and glory of God even as the waters fill the earth". And precedent to this erra is an unquenchable thirst and hunger for THE WORD OF GOD.

Hallelujah 🙌

*THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY*

Malachi.as

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” [John‬ ‭15‬:‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

“…He, the Holy Spirit will testify of Me”. Just as Jesus is the perfect revelation of the Father, even so, the Holy Spirit is the perfect revelation of Jesus. And just as Jesus surrounded His will to the Father, even so, the Spirit does not speak except for the purpose of Jesus.

The point is, the Word is truth and so is the Spirit. The person of Jesus represents the truth of God and this is made manifest by the Word and the Spirit. The two have the same essence and purpose. Again, it takes Truth only to reveal Jesus as the only begotten Son of God.

You see, the grace and the capacity to share Jesus is trapped in the Holy Spirit. He is the strength and the enablement that empowers flesh and blood to witness about Jesus. The prophetic is not the madness we see in town; the true prophetic is wired to the witness of Jesus. The point is, where you see the Spirit of prophecy, there, you will surely see Jesus.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” [Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]
Yeah, we all desire that power but the power of the Holy Spirit moves men to testify about Jesus.

To witness about Jesus is not the work of some specialized task force with special anointing; it is the work of a believer. Jesus says, “You will be enabled by the Holy Spirit to be My witnesses”. No! Not you but the Spirit of God will work through you to testify about Jesus. Hallelujah! So therefore, the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.

Amen 🙏

THE MISTAKE OF MARTHA

Lively Oracle Daily
with Malachi.as

“And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭41‬-‭42‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The problem is, we are almost always under the impression that, we know what God wants. Like Martha, many of us think we have mastered the the will God. Martha, naturally overburdened herself with what she thought was the right thing. But you see, you cannot choose right when you set the Word aside.

The one must important thing on God’s agenda is His Word. Jesus explains to Martha that, the choice to heed God’s Word is the one most important thing to do (Ps 27:4). This is the one thing that God will not deny you; in fact, He would break bounds to feed you His Word.

On His way from Judea to Galilee, Jesus was “restrained” to pass through Samaria to feed a Samaritan woman with the Word. Then He tells the disciples who beckoned Him to eat that, “…,My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” [John‬ ‭4‬:‭34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬] Do you see that?

Martha had erroneously imagined that, Jesus was wearied from His journey and ordinarily would need “food” to eat. But His food is the Word; spiritual people live more on the Word than common food. Jesus tells the unbelieving Pharisees that, “He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” [John‬ ‭8‬:‭47‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

Simply put, those who desire God’s word are God’s children. The problem is, many pastors have created in us desires and tastes for all other things but the Word. It’s an error. This first, and the one must important thing is the Word. In Genesis (beginning) 1:1, God created the heavens and the earth. In other words before matter, space and time was the Word.

Genesis 1 talks God speaking things into existence but Hebrews tells us exactly “how”. It says, “ By faith we know that the worlds were framed (created) by the Word of God…” [Heb 11:3] People of God, we must understand that, the first thing God would talk to you about is His Word because the Word is central to His Will. As a matter fact, the first and the last revelation of God is His the Word. (John 1:1)

Hallelujah

THE AGE OF KING AHAZIA

Was Ahaziah 22 years old (2 Kings 8:26) or 42 years old (2 Chronicles 22:2) when he started his reign?

The books of Kings and Chronicles cover much of the same history of God’s chosen people. The books of 1 and 2 Kings take the perspective of the northern kingdom of Israel, and the books of 1 and 2 Chronicles focus more on the southern kingdom of Judah. But the same kings are mentioned in both histories. There is some question about King Ahaziah’s age when he started to reign (this is King Ahaziah of Judah, not King Ahaziah of Israel). One record (2 Kings 8:26) says Ahaziah was 22 years old at the start of his reign, but the other record (2 Chronicles 22:2) says he was 42 years old—at least in some translations.

All translations of 2 Kings 8:26 are in agreement that Ahaziah of Judah was 22 years old at the start of his reign. And most translations of 2 Chronicles 22:2 also have his age at 22. However, some versions, such as the KJV, NKJV, ASV, and NRSV, state that Ahaziah acceded to the throne when he was 42 years old, not 22.

There are several theories to explain the discrepancy between 2 Kings 8:26 and 2 Chronicles 22:2. Here are four of them:

1. Second Kings 8:26 records when Ahaziah began co-ruling with his father Joash, while Second Chronicles 22:2 records when Ahaziah began ruling on his own once his father Joash died.

2. The 42-year age is that of Ahaziah’s mother, Athaliah. This theory is based on the peculiar wording of the Hebrew in 2 Chronicles 22:2, which literally says that the king was “a son of forty-two years.”

3. The 42 years is a reference not to Ahaziah’s age but where he came in the history of his family’s dynasty. Ahaziah was in the family of King Ahab of Israel, which 2 Chronicles 22:2–3 points out. That dynasty began with his grandfather Omri. The lengths of the reigns of all the kings in this family are as follows:
Omri — 6 years
Ahab — 22 years
Ahaziah (of Israel) — 2 years
Joram (or Jehoram) — 12 years
Total — 42 years

Since Ahaziah began to reign in Judah in the last year of Joram’s reign in Israel (2 Kings 8:25), Ahaziah would have ascended the throne in the 42nd year of that dynasty in Israel, which explains his being called “a son of forty-two years.” Ahaziah was a “son” of the dynasty of Omri, which was in its 42nd year when he took the throne. If this theory is correct, then 2 Kings 8:26 gives us Ahaziah’s age, and 2 Chronicles 22:2 gives us the age of his family’s rule.

4. Somewhere in the centuries-long copying process, a scribe made an error, changing the “22 years” of 2 Chronicles 22:2 to “42 years.” Not all the Hebrew manuscripts reflect the error, as a couple of ancient translations, the Syriac and the Arabic, each have “22 years,” thus bringing 2 Chronicles 22:2 and 2 Kings 8:26 into perfect agreement.

Adding support to this fourth theory is the biblical historian’s note in 2 Kings 8:17 that Ahaziah’s father, Joram, died at the age of 40. Therefore, Ahaziah could not have been 42 years old when he took over. Joram could not have had children before he himself was born, and so Ahaziah’s age when he began to reign must have been 22.

The original manuscript of each book of the Bible, being directly inspired by God, was free from all error. However, a few copyist errors crept into the Hebrew manuscripts as they were passed down from one generation to the next. In this case, the numerical notations in question varied so slightly that a smudge of ink, a wrinkle, or a tear on one copy could have led a scribe to write “42” rather than “22.”

The Bible today is just as authoritative as it was when originally written. We can completely trust the Bible as being God’s message to us. God’s Word endures forever, despite the occasional scribal mistake. Such errors are readily identified, and the issues they give rise to can be resolved.

TRUE RICHES VS UNRIGHTEOUS MAMMON.

“Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.”
[‭‭I Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]

…those who are rich in this present age here refers to those who have abundant resources like money, cars, estates 🏡, that make life comfortable in this world. If you have been a Christian for awhile, you would have known by now that, we(christians) have another world in view; and it’s called eternity. This present world is not all there is; the true life is spent in eternity. Keep that in mind!

Riches like any other earthly entrenched mundane possessions are not true(I will explain). They do not represent the view of God of this age neither do they influence the purpose of God on a man’s life by themselves. It is difficult to understand this now because many pastors have misrepresented the Word of God to confuse the brethren on this subject.

They are false teachers who have gone the way of the mad prophet Balaam, who for their own selfish and carnal desires exalt the unrighteous mammon above the sacred and holy things of God(2Peter 2:15). “perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”[1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬]

Bible calls them “perverse men of corrupt minds who lack the truth of the God and going about supposing that gain (profiteering off the gospel) is godliness…” Then he says, run away from such men because they are dangerous. We ought be cautious of the leaven of the Pharisees. Watch out for them!

The truth is, “…one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” [‭‭Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬]
Your real life is not affected by the abundance of your possessions; what matters most is the purpose for which God called you onto Himself. Do not be fooled nor lured into someone’s addictions and lusts. There are true riches that must be pursued with all your energy and zeal.

“Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?” [Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬]
You see that! God calls money (wealth; possessions) “unrighteous mammon” and these are uncertain in nature. Money is good, but money and abundance possessions are not the true riches.(Ref 2Peter 2:15)
