*DEALING WITH YOUTH SEXUAL IMMORALITY*
*SCRIPTURE READINGS*: 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

*EXPOSITION*
Everything created by God is good including s*x. At least we can point to about five scriptures in Genesis 1 alone which says that God's creation is good - Genesis 1:10,12,18,21 and 25. However, all the good things created by God can be misused and abused by man. For many of us young people, living godly lives in a s*xually immoral culture is challenging.

We now have popular TV icons or personalities who promote s*xual immorality as a life style and we call some of them “slay queens”. In the New Testament, the word for s*xual immorality is porneia - it means a surrendering of s*xual purity. Sexual immorality is the “selling off of s*xual purity and involves any type of s*xual expression outside the boundaries of a biblically defined marriage relationship.

Today s*xual immorality has now become “glorified abominations” - s*x parties is on the ascendancy, LGBTQ+ offices and advocacy groups are springing up in secret. You and I sometimes can't read newspaper, open a magazine, turn on the TV without being barraged with s*x directly or indirectly. When we read the Bible carefully, we see that in Proverbs 6:24-35, King Solomon provides us with the sound reasons why we must avoid s*xual immorality.

(1) You can be taken captive by s*xual immorality
(2) You can lose everything you have as a result of s*xual immorality
(3) You participate in sin when you engage in s*xual immorality
(4) punishment is inevitable
(5) engaging in s*xual immorality shows you lack sense.

Finally, as young people, we must need the word of God in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 _“Flee from s*xual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins s*xually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honour God with your body”._

🙏 *PRAYER*: Pray to God for the Spirit of self-control and self-discipline.*(GAA)*

🤔 *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK* 1 Timothy 4:13-13 (NIV) - “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, on love, in faith and in purity."
