WASH AND BE CLEAN
"Naaman came with his horses and chariot and stopped at the entrance to Elisha's home.
Elisha sent a messenger to him. He said, "Wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River, and your skin will be healthy and clean."
But Naaman became angry and left. He said, "I thought he would at least come out of his house, stand somewhere, call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the infected place, and heal the skin disease.
The Abana and Pharpar Rivers in Damascus have better water than any of the rivers in Israel. Couldn't I wash in them and be clean?" So he turned around and left in anger.
But Naaman's servants went to him and said, "Master, if the prophet had asked you to do some extraordinary act, wouldn't you have done it? Why shouldn't you do as he said: 'Wash and be clean'?" " 2KINGS 5:9-13
Naaman according to the scriptures was the captain of the host of Syria, was a great man before his master, and highly respected, because by him the Lord had given deliverance to Syria, and the man was mighty in strength.
This man, as great as he was, was a l***r. Leprosy was symbolic of sin under the old covenant and so it is proper to say that this man though great, had a sin problem. Your status in life does not in any way exempt you from the ''leprosy'' of sin. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, Paul said.
It took a little girl to show Naaman the solution to his leprosy. This little girl was so convinced that if Naaman met the prophet of God, he would be made whole. I am so convinced that if you met Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, you will be made whole. Just as Naaman followed the word of that little slave girl and got his healing, follow my word and get your healing from the ''leprosy'' of sin.
The solution to his leprosy problem was very simple; that he washed himself in the Jordan River seven times. But Naaman had other expectations. He expected that the man of God would do something different. Many of us are like Naaman. If we were told to do something extraordinary in order to be saved from our sins, we wouldnât have hesitated at all.
But the command is as simple as the one given to Naaman- ''Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.''-Acts 16:31
When he washed seven times in the Jordan, his skin became as new as that of a baby- ''Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.''2 Corinthians 5:17
The Jordan river cleansed his skin from leprosy-the precious blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
Will you believe and be saved or continue to be leprous? Make a wise choice NOW!!...Selah..
