THE WORD TODAY

Grace and confidence

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence.’ Hebrews 4:16

If you feel unworthy to approach God in prayer, stop and read these words: ‘Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need’ (Hebrews 4:16 NIV). The word grace means undeserved kindness, mercy, favour, and help when you need it. Notice three important things:

1) When you need grace, you can approach God with complete confidence. Why? Because you’re coming to a throne of grace and mercy, not a throne of judgment. All your sins – past, present, and future – were paid for the moment Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ Satan, whom the Bible calls the accuser, wants you to feel condemned, guilty, and unworthy to approach God. But the moment you placed your trust in Christ, God clothed you in Christ’s righteousness. Therefore, you can always come to Him with confidence.

2) When you need more grace, pray more. God has all the grace needed to help you, but you must go before His throne and ask for it. A prayerless Christian is a graceless Christian. The Bible says, ‘Grow in grace,’ and if you’re not praying every day, you’re not growing in your spiritual life. So, what’s the answer? Spend more time hanging around the throne that dispenses grace.

3) God’s grace is given based on your need at that moment. He won’t give you tomorrow’s grace until tomorrow, so don’t bother asking for it. But don’t be concerned; the supply of grace you have in Christ will not run out tomorrow or ever! That means you can’t wear out your welcome by going to the throne of grace too often.

THE WORD TODAY

Start Fresh Every Day

A quick-tempered person does foolish things.’ Proverbs 14:17 NIV

You overslept, you lost your favourite shoes, you were late for school, and your computer crashed! These things can make you angry, but only if you let them. Solomon said, ‘A quick-tempered person does foolish things,’ so if you fly into a rage, expect a rough landing! The Bible says, ‘He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.’ (Proverbs 16:32 NKJV). Anger always comes back to bite you and ends up doing more damage than the thing that triggered it. David said, ‘My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.’ (Psalm 5:3 NKJV).

Start by offering your day to God; then you will be less likely to react in anger when things go wrong. Our time here is short. What a shame to let something that happened years ago or twenty minutes ago ruin your day. Make up your mind to enjoy every single day. You might make mistakes; things may not go your way. You may be disappointed, but choose to live a happy life rather than let what does or doesn’t happen to steal your joy. Every morning say, ‘Father, this is going to be a great day. I thank you that I have discipline and self-control and that I make good decisions. I may not have done what I could have yesterday, but that day is gone. I’m going to do better today.’ Ever wonder why a car’s windscreen is big and its rear-view mirror small? Because what’s behind isn’t nearly as important as what’s ahead. So keep looking ahead, and no matter what happens today, don’t lose your peace.

Subject : For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 2 Corinthians 10:12

Child of God, as you step out in that your assignment, express yourself and don’t try to impress. One major problem with this generation is that
they want to impress people rather than expressing themselves and in trying to do so, they do not become the best of God because they run into
problems too quickly and become irrelevant.

WHEN YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF:

You Go In The Pace of God: God has a mapped out pace, route and timing for His children to profit them as Isaiah 48:17 states. When He led the children of Israel through the wilderness to the promised land, He had a reason for it. That reason was revealed in Exodus 13:17. There was a short cut but short cut leads to short life. In the pace of God, God helps you.

You Enjoy Peace: When you express yourself, you enjoy peace, you are contended with what you have and God glorifies Himself with it because He is our All-Sufficiency.

You Are Confident: There is this confidence you have when you have the peace of God and assurance that God approves you and He is with you. It is the kind of confidence expressed by the Psalmist in Psalms 24:4.

Glorifies Himself In You: When you express yourself God glorifies Himself through you. Your focus is to reveal what He has put in you and not to out do others by trying to impress, so He empowers you to express yourself and He takes the glory 2Cor. 4:7. I pray for you, you will express the gift of God in you and not impress.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I shall henceforth express myself to your glory and not impress man.

Subject : “ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth In me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15 :5.

One sure secret of unending flow of supply from above is staying connected. How can a branch cut off from the vine and hope to continue with the nutrients from the vine? How can a water pipe be disconnected from the tank and not fall short of water running through it? Great men in the kingdom were made great and they remained great by staying connected.
In a strange land in Babylon, where they carried captives, four Hebrew boys stood out and grew till they became great and relevant in the land because they stayed connected to God. These persons were Daniel and his friends Shedrach, Meshach, and Abenego. In Daniel chapter one they purposed in their hearts that they would not defile themselves with the portion of the king’s meat and drink and God proved Himself in their lives. In Daniel 3;, the three Hebrew boys, Shedrach, Meshach and Abenego refused to bow to the golden image set up by the king and they threw them into the burning fiery furnace but they were not burnt because God was waiting for them in the fire. Also in Daniel 6; Daniel refused to obey the king’s decrees not to pray or make any petition to any God or man except to the king for thirty days, otherwise be thrown into the Lion’s den. But Daniel, prayed to the Almighty God, not minding the threat and that landed him in the lion’s den but God was right there to rescue him. At both instances, the king made a decree that all tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abenego for he is the living God. And they prospered and were relevant in the land.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, every power on assignment to disconnect me from God, be frustrated by fire.

Subject : “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10.

God is ready to change every ugly experience of anyone who is prepared to fight for a change in the place of prayer. Your decision determines your destiny. Life is an adventure for those who dare to venture. You can’t enter into destiny with your mouth closed.
In the passage above, Jabez decided to change the ugly experience of his life back to his original destiny of being more honourable than his brethren in place of prayer and God granted it. His problem was his foundation, right from birth, the mother named him Jabez, saying,”Because I bare him with sorrow.” 1 Chronicles 4:9.
You can imagine how his life had been! Not only was he sorrowful, he was inflicting sorrow on all who associated with him. He was sorrow personified until he woke up and took his destiny in his hands turning unto God his Creator in the place of prayer.
Child of God, it doesn’t matter if that problem is foundational or a pattern in your lineage. Christ had redeemed you by his blood(Rev. 5:9). You are a new species not born of blood, nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God(John 1:13). So no power whatsoever can hold you bound. If you can pray, you will come out of that situation into your destiny. Arise and pray.

PRAYER
My Father, my Fighter, as I begin to pray, I break out of every limitation of life into my destiny by the blood of Jesus…

Subject : “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17.

One of the reasons why believers fear and give in to circumstances is because they feel they are alone; they lack the knowledge of the mighty God in the midst of them. God cannot be compared with whatever challenge or opposition that is confronting you because God is mighty. His mightiness cannot be described; it is infinite; it has no end. That problem of yours becomes a plain before Him, why then are you bothered? Just as scripture counsels, fear not, your God is super mighty in your midst.
Have a personal knowledge of God and you will be strong and of courage. Daniel 11:32b says, ” but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. ” The different between two believers is what they know. Go for knowledge; do not allow the devil feed on your ignorance and make you fell you are forsaking. God says to you, “I will never live, nor forsake thee. Hebrew 13:5. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee…” (Isaiah 43:2). Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Matthew 28:20.
Child of God, refused to be molested or harassed by whatever. You cannot have God with you and not come out victorious in any challenge of life. Rejoice! God is with you.

PRAYER:
My Father, forgive me. Never again will I fear because you are mighty in the midst of me.

Subject : “Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a god of knowledge, and by him actions are weighted”. 1 Sam. 2:3

Many people are where they are today because of obstacle called fear. Fear has crippled the destines of princes and made them become servants (Eccl. 10:7). It has made landlords to still remain tenants, business tycoons to still be apprentices. It has made a worldwide ministry to still be in a corner. What a malady caused by fear! Yet scripture
categorically stated in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God knew the danger of fear, hence He gave the command “Fear not” 366 times in scriptures for His children to trample upon fear and step out in faith to possess their inheritance in Christ. Listen, until you step out taking necessary action on those intentions, goals, objectives or desires of yours, they will not materialize. God amplifies your efforts. He displays His might when you step out in His name on what you ought to do. To sit down is to waste. The four leprous men even in their seemingly incapacitated state still needed to go out to wrought the victory of God. They said to
themselves in 2 kings 7:3, “Why sit we here until we die?” and when they stepped out, God amplified their effort and the Syrians fled.

The year 2022 is gradually rolling out, there is what you still need to do to provoke mighty turnaround in your life. Begin to take those steps, differ not your action because procrastination is a killer of time and destiny.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I activate my will to take steps and actualising my dream in Jesus name!

Subject : “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Ex 15 :11.

Our God is a God that does wonders, that is His area of specialties. Hence He is called wonderful. His wonders absolutely differentiates Him as God. No wonder He says, in Isaiah 55 :8 – 9; ” For my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways…for as the havens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts
than your thoughts. You can experience His wonders regularly in your life if only you can press the buttons that triggers them. The Holiness Factor: God is glorious in holiness, doing wonders. If you want to continually trigger His wonders in your life, be ye holy as He is holy. Of course it is not by the energy of the flesh but empowered by the Spirit, but there must be a willful determination to attain it.

There must be a longing in your spirit for it. It takes a decision backed up with passion and helped by the Holy Spirit. It takes the grace of God, which you ought to long for constantly, daily surrendering at the cross yielding your members to Him. Salvation brought righteousness as a gift to us, with so much promises. We are therefore to put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness (Eph. 4 :24), we are to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and Spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2Cor. 7 :1. “For God hath not called us unto uncleanness but into
holiness 1 Thess. 4 :7. If we do, we trigger His wonders in our lives.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, pour your grace afresh upon me for a consecrated life unto you…..
