*THE LAMP DEVOTION*
*THURSDAY APRIL 3*
*TEACHING ON A NEW LEVEL*
*2 Timothy 2:14-17*
_14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more unGodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort._
This exhortation that Paul gave Timothy is so relevant and critical in the times we are living in currently. Remember it is the same apostle Paul who warned that in the last days all kinds of doctrines of devils shall parade the corridors of the church. Is that not what we are experiencing in our day? Unfortunately, some of these are preached not by people of low estate, but certain individuals whom God has used to do some great things. That makes it tough for young believers. How can a man very well respected say something and later come and apologize that something he has taught for years is not the truth etc.?
It is time for anyone who takes the Bible and stands in front of people who are eager for the Truth of God to examine what he or she is about to say before opening his or her mouth. All who share God’s word in one way or the other must take our teaching to a new level, devoid of all the heresies and say what the Spirit of God wants the people to hear.
We are living in times when we must rightly divide the word of truth. The world needs it, the believers in Christ need it, and the future generations of Christianity need the Truth.
*Prayer*
1. Thank God for His unchanging Truth ever available to all.
2. Pray that you will do your part in teaching God’s Truth and only the Truth.
3. Father, please help me to know Your word in its totality and grant me grace to teach the same.
