JESUS PLACED COMPASSION ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE

THE WORD FOR TODAY.
MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2026.

JESUS PLACED COMPASSION ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE.

MATTHEW 9:36 (NKJV)

“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.”

A defining trait of Jesus was His deep compassion. Before addressing anyone’s faults, He cared for their hearts. Before pointing out their mistakes, He understood their pain and brokenness. He looked beyond surface appearances to see the fears, confusion, and spiritual hunger hiding within.

When Jesus saw the crowds, He didn’t just see problems needing fixes; He saw souls yearning for love. The sick were healed, the hungry fed, the grieving comforted, the rejected embraced. His compassion broke down barriers and softened hearts, making space for truth and transformation.

This doesn’t mean Jesus ignored sin. He boldly spoke truth and beckoned for repentance. However, His correction was always rooted in love, not condemnation. He didn’t come to crush the broken but to restore them. Even in His rebukes, He offered grace and pointed toward new life.

As followers of Christ, we’re called to mirror this perfect balance of grace and truth. It’s easy to criticize or grow impatient with others’ failures. But Jesus teaches us to ask: “What has this person been through? What burdens are weighing on them? How can I show God’s love today?” Compassion amplifies the power of truth; it opens hearts to receive it.

Many carry invisible burdens behind smiling faces. They may seem fine outwardly but are struggling internally. They need more than critique; they need someone to listen, pray, encourage, and gently guide them toward Jesus.

Let your heart be filled with Christ’s compassion, so that through your words, actions, and attitude, others can experience His love. When His compassion becomes your passion, you become a channel of His healing and hope.

REFLECTION:

Do I respond to people's weaknesses with genuine compassion and grace? Or am I quick to judge?

ACTION STEP:

Look for someone today carrying a heavy burden. Offer a listening ear, a word of encouragement, sincere prayer, or a simple act of kindness. Let your compassion mirror the heart of Christ.

DECLARATION:

The compassion of Christ fills my heart. I choose love over judgment, mercy over criticism, and grace over condemnation. The Holy Spirit helps me see others as God sees them. Through my words and actions, others will encounter Jesus’ kindness and compassion.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me compassion when I needed Your mercy. Forgive me for judging others without understanding their struggles. Fill my heart with Your love and tenderness. Help me see people through Your eyes, speak truth with grace, and become an instrument of Your healing and restoration. Let my life reflect Your compassionate heart every day. AMEN!!!

THA SALVATION OF THE LOST, THE HEARTBEAT OF CHRIST

THE WORD FOR TODAY.

THE SALVATION OF THE LOST, THE HEARTBEAT OF CHRIST.

LUKE 19:10 (NKJV)

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Jesus’ mission was crystal clear: He came to seek out and save the lost. Every town He visited, every step He took, and every word He spoke reflected the Father’s deep love for those far from Him. Jesus never saw people as obstacles to His schedule. Instead, He viewed each person as a precious soul, created in God's image.

Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus reaching out to tax collectors, sinners, the sick, the rejected, and the forgotten. While others judged them for their failures, Jesus looked beyond their weaknesses and saw their potential. His compassion opened doors to repentance, healing, and renewal.

The cross stands as the ultimate proof of how much the lost matter to God. Jesus willingly laid down His life so that everyone who believes in Him can receive forgiveness, eternal life, and reconciliation with the Father. His sacrifice demonstrates the incredible value God places on every human soul.

If Christ’s passion is to become our passion, then we must begin to see people through His eyes. Instead of turning away from those who don’t know Him, our hearts should be stirred with compassion. Instead of criticizing, we should pray for them, love them, and faithfully point them to Jesus, the hope of the world.

God has strategically placed people in your life- family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, classmates, even strangers- who need His love. You may be the very vessel through whom they experience His salvation.

Today, ask God to give you His heart for the lost. Let your words, actions, and prayers mirror His desire that none perish, but all come to repentance. When His passion ignites yours, sharing His love will become a joyful privilege rather than an obligation.

REFLECTION:

When I see people who do not know Christ, do I respond with genuine compassion, or am I quick to judge and overlook?

ACTION STEP:

Pray for three people who don’t yet know Christ. Write down their names, and commit to praying for them consistently this week. Look for chances to encourage one of them or share God’s love in practical ways.

DECLARATION:

I have the heart of Christ for the lost. God fills me with compassion and love for those far from Him. I am an ambassador of Christ, carrying the message of hope, forgiveness, and salvation. Through the Holy Spirit’s power, my life will point others to Jesus.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, thank You for seeking me when I was lost and for saving me through Jesus. Fill my heart with Your compassion for those who are still searching. Help me see others as You see them and love them with Christ’s love. Give me courage to share the gospel and wisdom to reflect Your grace in every conversation. Use my life to draw others into Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!!

THE WORD FOR TODAY.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 22, 2026.

A LIFE FORGED BY LOVE.

MATTHEW 22:37–39 (NKJV)

“Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Today’s passage reveals a powerful truth: love, the very essence that shaped Jesus’ life. Every miracle He performed, every word He spoke, every prayer He lifted, and every sacrifice He made sprang from His profound love for the Father and His deep compassion for humanity.

Love wasn’t just something Jesus taught; it was who He was. He loved the Father with all His heart, rejoiced in His Word, sought His presence passionately, pursued righteousness, and walked in perfect holiness. His love was evident through obedience, humility, forgiveness, mercy, and selfless service.

This same love now flows within every believer through the Holy Spirit. God doesn’t only call us to imitate Jesus outwardly; He transforms us from the inside out so that we love as Christ loved. As our love for God grows, obedience becomes a joy rather than a duty. We seek His presence not out of obligation, but because we desire to be with Him. We pursue holiness, not to earn His favor, but because we already have it through Christ.

A life founded on love also shapes how we treat others. We become more patient with the weak, quicker to forgive, more generous to those in need, and eager to share the hope of the gospel. The love of Christ flowing through us becomes a powerful testimony to the world.

The Christian life isn’t measured by knowledge, longevity in faith, or busyness in ministry. It’s measured by love. When our hearts are filled with God’s love, our lives naturally radiate the passion of Christ.

May this be your daily prayer: “Lord, let everything I think, say, and do be shaped by Your love.”

REFLECTION:

Can others see the love of Christ through your words, attitudes, decisions, and relationships?

ACTION STEP:

Today, practically demonstrate Christ’s love by forgiving an offense, helping someone in need, or sharing a word about Jesus. Let someone experience God’s love through you.

DECLARATION:

The love of God has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit. I love God with all my heart and love others sincerely. The love of Christ shapes my life, and His love is visible in my thoughts, words, actions, and relationships. I am becoming more like Jesus each day.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for loving me with an everlasting love. Thank You for revealing that love through Jesus Christ. Fill my heart anew with Your Holy Spirit so that Your love overflows into every part of my life. Help me to love You with all my heart and to love others as You have loved me. Let my life reflect the heart of Christ. May Your passion become my passion each day. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!!
