Busy weekend! Women’s Oratory trip to Madonna House and to the Coptic Monks in the Forge Valley near Scarborough. That was followed by a Pentecost Vigil Mass. This was a first. Since many of the students wanting to be baptised or confirmed could not be around at Easter we had a second round at Pentecost. All very lovely…

We had an excellent day on Wednesday at Madonna House a retreat centre near Robin Hood’s Bay followed by a visit to the Coptic monks near Scarborough and ended up with a fish and chip supper on the beach. (I’m making almost exactly the same trip again tomorrow with the Women’s Group!) My day began with my customary Greggs tea and bacon roll!

The new semester is here and normal service times resume at More House:

SUNDAY MASS AT 12.15pm

WEEKDAY MASS TIMES

Monday - Mass in Latin 8.45am
Tuesday - Mass in English at 6.30pm (with Confessions & Exposition from 6pm)
Wednesday - NO MASS
Thursday - Mass in English at 6.30pm (with Confessions & Exposition from 6pm)
Friday - Mass in English (Ordinariate Rite) at 8.45am

The Chaplain hosts a meal for CaSSoc (The Catholic Student Society) after Mass on Thursday ​before the weekly CaSSoc Meeting

The Catechism Class will begin at 5pm on Thursday 5th.

Monday’s Mass this week will be English with Blessing of Candles.

For those who will not be around in York to be confirmed/received/baptised at Easter I have pencilled in 5pm on Saturday 23rd May, the Vigil of Pentecost at the Oratory.
