This event is open to everyone, whether you regularly worship with us, are a building user or member of a uniformed organisation, or simply live in the community!

📣 Messy Church - The Holy Spirit
📅 Today - Saturday 16th May
🕓 4pm - 6pm
📍 Holgate Methodist Church, Acomb Road
👪 Suitable for all ages (no unaccompanied children please)
💷 Free - donations welcome, but by no means required

This afternoon, we'll be exploring the theme of 'Holy Spirit' - traditionally one of the hardest parts of the Christian faith to get your head around! Thinking about the Holy Spirit reminds us of the mystery of our faith - that we can't see or touch God but we believe he is real nonetheless. It's a chance to remember and perhaps experience the 'otherness' of God: we think of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit, yet they are all a part of the same God, just viewed in different ways.

So, we'll have some activities centred around things that you know happen, but cannot see: windmills, magnets, etc. We'll also be thinking about the flames and doves which are associated with the Holy Spirit including, of course, an edible activity and some Messy Painting! As usual, there'll also be a Calmer Zone.
