COMMUNION AT HOME FOR THOSE WHO ARE SICK AND HOUSEBOUND

A parishioner has kindly agreed to take the lead on coordinating this important ministry. The first step will be to get a complete picture of what is currently happening, and then to reach out to people who are not currently being served. With this in mind…

SPECIAL MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
It is some time since we commissioned new Special ministers. The role includes either helping with Holy Communion at Mass and/or taking Holy Communion to those who are sick or housebound.

We invite you to ponder, prayerfully, if this service is something the Lord might be inviting you to do. It is open to anyone aged 18 and over and will require a DBS check. You do not need a shiny halo, just trying as best you can to live the Christian Life. The DBS process is free, not complicated or intrusive, and our Safeguarding Coordinator can take you through the process when the time comes. Everyone in the Diocese who is involved in ministry, beginning with the Bishop, is DBS checked.

Going forward we plan to re-introduce a rota for Special Ministers of Holy Communion at the two Sunday Masses, as we already have for Readers.

🌿 Season of Creation 2026

This year the Season of Creation (1st September - 4th October) is guided by the vision of the prophet Ezekiel (47:1–12): a river flowing from the temple of God, which grows without stopping and brings life where everything seems barren.

Water heals, restores, and makes creation flourish. But it also challenges us: to recognize ecological damage; to embrace our interconnectedness; and to immerse ourselves in the responsibility of caring for and restoring our Common Home.

🌍May this Season of Creation be a path for the healing of the Earth and human well-being to flourish together.
