A number of us had a great time with Mel from GYD on Saturday morning. We really enjoyed getting the chance to learn / think more deeply about how we can better teach our Children and Young People.
If you were there, let us know what stood out to you...
If you missed out, do chat Andy or Becky about notes from the session and make sure you're around when we book in Part 2!
On Saturday we had the joy of being with the volunteer leaders at York Baptist Church for children’s and youth ministry training.
Every weekend, in different places and with different churches, we are reminded what a privilege this work is. Growing Young Disciples exists because we love the local church. We love seeing faithful leaders give their time, energy, Saturday mornings, spare evenings, and whole hearts to helping children and young people know the Lord Jesus and hear the Bible taught well.
Opening Scripture with the next generation carries real weight and real privilege. Children and young people deserve more than noise, entertainment, or vague ideas. They need leaders who will think carefully, pray seriously, prepare diligently, and teach the Bible with clarity, warmth, and deep conviction.
We had such a great time in York thinking together about how to teach the Bible faithfully, engagingly, and well.
Thank you, York Baptist Church, for having us. It was a real privilege to be with you.
