What does it mean to be a Christian? Is it because your parents are Christians, or you were born in a Christian country? Is it because you go to church and are good? NO to all of the above. What even is being good? Well, we can never be good enough. It is not about what you do, it is about what Jesus did. God is holy and can not have anything unholy in his presence. That's all of us scuppered then. Yes and no. On our own we cannot go into the presence of God, as we all sin. The good news (the gospel) is that Jesus came down to earth and lived as a human. He did all that we do but without sin. He then died for us on the cross and took the sins of the world so that if we believe in him we will be good enough. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. If you are not a Christian or are not sure please do speak to James or Ben or one of the wardens on duty each Sunday. We'd love to welcome you into the family of believers.
