🌟 Calling All St Gildas Alumni! 🌟
We are incredibly proud of every pupil who has passed through the doors of St Gildas, and we would love to hear where life has taken you since your time with us.

Whether you’ve followed a dream career, discovered a passion you never expected, travelled the world, raised a family, built a business, or achieved something wonderfully unique — your story matters. And it has the power to inspire the next generation.

We are hoping to create a special display in school to show our children the amazing things St Gildas pupils go on to do. Sometimes the most powerful encouragement comes from someone who once sat exactly where they sit now. If you would be happy to visit as a guest speaker, or know someone who might be, we would be delighted to welcome you back.

If you’d prefer to contribute from afar, we would love a photo of “you then and you now,” along with a short note about what you’re doing today. With your permission, we’ll share it with the children or include it in our alumni display.

Easter Mass Schedule:

Holy Ghost, Yeovil (English Masses)
Palm Sunday (29th Mar)- Sat 5pm; Sun 10:30am, 6pm.
Maundy Thursday (2nd Apr) - 7pm followed by night vigil.
Good Friday (3rd Apr) - 2:30pm Stations of the Cross followed by solemn liturgy.
Easter Vigil (Sat 4th Apr) - 8:30pm.
Easter Sunday (5th Apr) - 9am, 10:30am.

There is also a Polish Mass at 4pm in Yeovil on both Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.

Palm Sunday - 9:00am.
Maundy Thursday - 6:30pm.
Good Friday - 2:30pm Stations of the Cross followed by solemn liturgy.

Please note there is no 2pm (Children's Mass / Malayalam) or 6pm Sunday Mass for the next five weeks.

Sunday Mass times will be:
Saturday 5pm (Yeovil, Vigil);
Sunday 9am (South Petherton),
Sunday 10:30am (Yeovil),
Sunday 4pm (Yeovil, Polish Mass).

The normal mass schedule resumes from 14th February once Fr Sujith has returned.

Praise God for His blessings over the past year!

As we enter 2026, we have so much to look forward to:
✨ 175 children enrolled in Sunday catechism classes
✨ 40+ children preparing for First Holy Communion
✨ Confirmations for our older young people
✨ 4 adults being received into the Church at Easter

Our parish liturgical life is vibrant:
🌍 Masses in English and Polish, with the Syro-Malabar Qurbana bimonthly and occasional Filipino Masses too
🎶 Several choirs and cantors enrich our Sunday Masses
🙏 Over 20 altar servers and a dedicated team of readers and EMHCs assist in celebrations

Parish social life is thriving too:
☕ After-Mass teas and coffees in the Marian Hall
🎉 Pentecost celebrations, craft club, and our popular Christmas Bazaar

*Christmas Eve - Wednesday 24th December*
4pm - Polish Mass (Yeovil)
6pm - Vigil Mass (South Peterton)
7pm - Vigil Mass (Yeovil)
8:30pm - Malayalam Mass (Yeovil)

N.B. The only Midnight Mass celebrated in our deanery this year will be at Our Lady of Glastonbury Church (in Glastonbury) with carols from 11:30pm. There will be no Midnight Mass in Yeovil.

Advent Reconciliation: Confessions will be heard on Thursday, 18th December from 4:30 to 5:45pm. There is also the regular confession time of Saturdays 4:00 to 4:45pm. Take this opportunity to avail yourself of the sacrament to prepare yourself for the coming of Jesus at Christmas.

Don't forget annual Christmas Fair takes place takes place next Saturday (6th Dec) 11am until 2pm. Come along to support the parish and get into the festive spirit with gift stalls, games and more. Don't miss the St Gildas Catholic Primary School Choir singing carols at noon.

Any remaining donations for the stalls can be left in the boxes at the back of the Church. Make sure to get your raffle tickets and quizzes returned to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes too!
