The weather's looking settled for tomorrow's Rogation Sunday Walk over at Isycoed - do join us for a gentle walk, blessing the fields, animals and water as we go, followed by a simple service in church. Meet at St Paul's at 3.

A huge 'well done' to the pupils of St Paul's VA Primary School in Isycoed, who decided to hold a coffee morning in support of Shooting Star as part of their FeelGood Friday today. Shooting Star have provided great support to one of the school community in recent month and the children were keen to do something to say 'thank you'. It was great to see so many people there, chatting and supporting this great cause, and the chocolate caramel shortbread was absolutely *outstanding*!

We were extremely sad to hear that a person was hit by a train between Chester and Wrexham earlier today, and our thoughts are with their friends and family. We are also thinking of all those who have lost someone they love in similar sudden and unexpected circumstances, and for whom today’s news will have stirred painful memories.

If you are struggling, it's OK to talk, and to reach out for help; you matter, and you are loved. Samaritans are always there to listen, 24/7, on 116 123. And Andy’s Man Club, who meet in Chester, Mold, Wrexham and Connah’s Quay every Monday at 7pm, are there for men who are going through a storm, or have just been through one, with understanding and support. Find them on Facebook.

It was fantastic to welcome so many families to Christ Church, Rossett on Easter Sunday, several of whom asked about our monthly family service there. Well, it will next be taking place on Sunday 19 April at 10.30am; a nice, civilised start time, slightly shorter and more informal service and (though we make no promises!) maybe some fun…. We’d love to see you there. We know there are all kinds of calls on people’s time on a Sunday, from martial arts to (it seems) Morris dancing, but we hope a service once a month will give you more realistic opportunity to make Jesus part of family life, whatever age you are.

After a busy Holy Week and Easter Sunday, things are a little quieter this week, with services at two of our three churches, both at 11am on Sunday. Isycoed will share in morning worship, led by Rachel Bellis, and there will be a combined Eucharist here at St Martin’s, Llay. It would be lovely to see you there.

Tonight here at St Martin’s, Llay, at 7pm we will retell the story of God’s saving love for all humankind – from the Isrealites crossing the sea with Moses, to Jesus birth, his death that we remembered on Good Friday, and now Mary’s encounter with the risen Jesus in the garden. It’s an extraordinary mystery, which we’ll tell with candles and water, reading and silence, and we’d love you to join us -even (or maybe especially) if you’ve never been to a service of Christian worship before and wonder what faith is all about.

Today is Good Friday, the day Jesus died, and the holiest day of the year for his followers. There will be quiet, reflective services in all our churches, following Jesus to the foot of the Cross.

At 11am at Llay, Reverend Hugh Jones will be leading Stations of the Cross, at 12noon at Isycoed Reverend Tracey will be leading a service of reflection with music and poetry, and at 2pm at Rossett, Jenny Creed will be leading a service of Stations.

It will be the first time our new banners and images have been used at Llay and Rossett respectively – do join us if you can.
