So which do you want to know about - St Andrew's building or St Andrew's people? The word "church" actually means the people, but the building itself is a gem. It's 900 years old, Grade two star, with a very special atmosphere you only get when a place has been prayed in for generations. It's tucked away - you feel as though you are in the middle of a rural idyll, yet you are 5 minutes from the M2
5. There's a lovely set of bells whose peals can sometimes be heard drifting across the village...
But yes, it's the people who make St Andrew's such an enjoyable place to be. They are friendly and welcoming as well as prayerful. There's most age groups from children to the retired, and there are home groups which are great places for support, fun and fellowship. We run all kinds of activities from a toddler group and the Young Seekers Sunday School through to the Tuesday Pop-in, a men's pub night and the Better Portion for ladies who lunch. We also love working together with other local Christians at St Michael's Church Horton and Wraysbury Baptist Church. Full details of everything we do can be found on our website at www.standrewswraysbury.co.uk. Our worship covers everything from a very traditional Book of Common Prayer Service once a month (you have to get up early!) through more and less formal communion services to our monthly New Life service, which brings a fresh take on being a Christian today and is often led by lay members of the church. Most of our services start at 11.00am on Sunday morning. More details are on our website. We're still setting our goals and vision for the future in a process called Mission Action Planning - more of this soon. But however that works out we aim to remain at the heart of our community, to be a blessing to those around us and to learn how to go deeper with God.
