Dear friends
Good news. I have had my surgery which involved sowing a tendon back onto my shoulder and removing some stubborn bone that was limiting movement of my shoulder and arm. (I did read the surgeons report, which was a clear as mud to my eyes, but I think my translation is pretty much what they have done.)
Getting the surgery so quickly was a miracle in itself. Once the decision was made it happened within 4 days.
I now have to wear a sling night and day for one month.... be a good girl and not do anything. (tricky for me!!!). This will be followed by another month of physio with the hope that my left arm will eventually be restored fully . (Work that could take 12 months or more). There is sadly no quick fix, who would have thought that a tumble into a trailer in January could cause so much damage.
This is not how I had planned my final months with you all.
I have shed tears of anger and frustration and pain. but if I am to heal well then I must submit and trust.
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” – 1 Peter 5:6
I am asking both deanery clergy and our diocesan team to step up and help with services a little earlier than anticipated. That was meant to be in Aug as you entered vacancy.
I will keep you updated.
In the meantime, give thanks in prayer for surgeons and physiotherapists and the NHS.
And make sure to encourage each other
1 Thessalonians' 11
Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
And do come and visit me as long as you don't mind doing the washing up before you go!!!

Every blessing
