Summer holiday. Fun for the family. Nature trail packs to use in St Marys ChurchYard Wotton plus don’t forget our red sofa inside the church. Perfect for a quiet chill out sunshine or rain !!!

Final au revoir drinks at St Marys. Lots of lovely friends. Even a poem read and plenty of wine sipped. Then a rainbow appeared over the church tower. 🌈

Many thanks for this beautiful bouquet of flowers given to me yesterday from all my churches at my final communion service.
And to Mary for this exquisite ‘Angel’ oil on canvas.
I feel very blessed. 👌🏻❤️

Tomorrow is my final final service. BCP communion at 9.30 am. Coffee and opportunity to say our farewells after service.

Also have chance of joining me for drinks on Thurs evening 7-9pm at St Marys in the churchyard!!!

My last Choral Evensong before retirement at end of July. Here is a poem about this special service written by Rowan Williams

The light is late today, and long,
It hangs upon the stone and wood,
As if it paused to hear the song,
And understood that it was good.
The voices rise, a slender thread,
Of sound that weaves through time and space,
A bridge between the quick and dead,
A glimpse of glory, full of grace.
The Magnificat, the Nunc Dimittis,
The ancient words we know so well,
They speak of love, and what his will is,
And mysteries no tongue can tell.
And as the final prayers are said,
And silence falls upon the choir,
We know that we have been well fed,
And touched by holy, living fire.
