The Sistine Chapel Ceiling Reproduction

April 2024: We are please to announce that we are now open for ceiling visitors from 1 April to 31 October 2024. See below for opening times and phone number for group bookings and coaches.

OPENING TIMES
During opening season, our usual opening times are:

Monday 10.00 am – 1.00 pm

Tuesday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm

Wednesday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm

Thursday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm

Friday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm

ADMISSION
Free

FACILITIES
Visitors are welcome to view the ceiling.
It is always a good idea to check the church will be open for visitors, especially if travelling long distance, since it may be closed for funerals and special services.
Please contact the shop on phone number 01903 506890 (use this number during ceiling opening season, April to October. Between November and March please call the parish office on 01903 242624).

We are wheelchair accessible.
Toilets.
The church is normally open each year from Easter to the end of October.
Coach parties are welcome but are asked to book in advance.

From the Archives:
The Sistine Chapel Ceiling (and other paintings from the Sistine Chapel and architectural details) was recreated on the ceiling of English Martyrs Catholic Church, Goring-by-Sea, Worthing, and was completed in 1993 after five and half years by Gary Bevans. Here is our ceiling and artist on the July 1991 cover of Sussex Life over 30 years ago!

UPDATE: 3rd November 2020: We are now CLOSED to visitors to view the Sistine Chapel Ceiling Reproduction at English Martyrs Catholic Church, Goring, . We plan to open to visitors again on Monday 29th March 2021 and look forward to seeing you then and sharing with you our beautiful ceiling.

Coaches and small parties may still make an appointment to visit during the winter months by dialling the Parish Office 01903 242624.
