After the tragic events at Big Church Festival yesterday we'd like to offer this prayer.
Lord Jesus,
We pray for the family and friends of the man who tragically lost his life yesterday at the festival. We pray for your peace to surround them as they come to terms with what has happened.
We pray for those that were injured in the accident, for their healing and recovery both physical and mental. We pray for the medical staff treating them and for them and for those that attended the accident to help, whether volunteer, emergency service personnel or festival goer.
Lord, there were many that witnessed what happened and we pray that your love surrounds them as they manage all the feelings it will have created. Give them peace.
We pray for the staff and volunteers at the festival who worked so hard to make the event what it was and who are now dealing with the trauma of the accident and all that happened afterwards in getting people safely off site.
We pray for protection from speculation and harmful words and pray that they too will know your love for them stronger than ever.
We pray for the organisers of the festival who will now be working with police and others to investigate and how it happened. This will be a harrowing time for all. We pray for wisdom and strength.
We pray for those involved in the set up of the site and especially the signage who must be distraught. Give them comfort at this unimaginable time.
We pray for all those who were in the festival grounds, both day visitors and those camping on site. Although most did not see what happened all were caught up in what followed and there is a great sense of shock and not quite knowing how to handle the emotions it has brought.
What was supposed to be a weekend full of praise and glory to you has ended in a terrible way. We lift the whole situation to you and ask that you will be to all what they need.
