The best day of the year!
9th Dhu'l Hijjah 1447/Tuesday 26th May 2026
It is mustahabb (highly recommended) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day, since the Prophet ๏ทบ was asked about fasting on the day of โArafah, so he said;
โIt expiates the sins (Minor) of the past year and the coming year.โ
[Sahih Muslim 1162]
Amongst the rewards for fasting on the day of Arafah is forgiveness of sins, there are many other rewards too, the general rewards related to fasting are also applicable here. It is important to keep in mind that most Hadith that speak of sins being forgiven due to particular acts of piety usually refer to minor sins and not major sins.
The day of Arafah is when the Hajj pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of Arafah praying and supplicating (dua) to their Lord Allah ุณูุจูุญูุงูููู ููุชูุนูุงูููโ .
It was narrated from โAmr ibn al-โAas RAA that the Prophet ๏ทบ said: *The best of du'aa' is du'aa' on the day of 'Arafah, and the best that I and the Prophets before me said is*
*"ูุง ุงูู ุงูุง ุงููู ูุญุฏู ูุง ุดุฑูู ููุ ูู ุงูู
ูู ููู ุงูุญู
ุฏุ ููู ุนูู ูู ุดูุก ูุฏูุฑ"*
Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahuโl-mulk wa lahuโl-hamd wa huwa โala kulli shayโin qadeer'
(There is no god but Allah ุณูุจูุญูุงูููู ููุชูุนูุงูููโ alone, with no partner or associate; His is the dominion, to Him be praise, and He has power over all things)."

Try your best to fast on the 9th Dhu'l Hijjah - the day of Arafah and this year it falls tomorrow on Tuesday 26th May 2026.
