St Martin's Church, London Road, Worcester

St Martin's Church, London Road, Worcester A building full of surprises, with a caring church family serving God in our local community. There is a strong musical tradition, with a fine organ and choir.

For over a hundred years, our church has offered a Christian witness to our neighbours with a worship tradition that is centred on the eucharist. We are very much a parish church, and we have a commitment to serve our local community, offering pastoral care, friendship, and hospitality. We hope you will find us a friendly and welcoming church; we would love to involve you in our many activities, b

ut at the same time respect the fact that some prefer to come to church for private prayer. Being on one of the main roads into Worcester, we have a number of visitors who ‘pass by’. We believe that when people enter the church, they discover real treasures. On 6th January 2014 English Heritage informed us that St Martin’s Church was to become a Grade 2 listed building. This designation recognises that the church is a good example of the work of the architect Fellowes Prynne and that the building has retained its architectural and liturgical integrity since its consecration in 1911. The people of St Martin’s have taken great care of the building during its hundred year history and we are committed to do so in the future. St Martin’s parish stretches from the city centre to the eastern ring road, with a varied community, including eight schools, St Richard’s Hospice, County Hall, various businesses (Lea and Perrin’s amongst them), nursing and residential homes, and has the main Worcestershire Hospital on one border, and a mosque on another. We value all our neighbours and are deeply committed to serving them. We are one of four churches in the Worcester South East Team, and work closely with our team members.
