The title is “Birmingham”. This came from a conversation with my brother. When he first saw the painting, he said the tangled forms and single clear route reminded him of the M5 cutting through the heavy, confusing traffic around Birmingham.
That idea stayed with me.

I thought of the painting as a reflection on faith and direction in the midst of chaos. Moving through the noise and complexity of life, holding to a clear path of spiritual direction. Rather than escaping chaos, the central path moves us through the chaos — reminding us that God’s guidance and conviction exists within the confusion of everyday life. “Birmingham” is not only a reflection on urban movement, but a visual comment on navigating life with clarity and conviction with God showing the way.
