Have you ever heard of, or seen The Knitted Bible Exhibition? It's a wonderful collective work! In 2008, members of the congregation of St George's URC in Hartlepool knitted scenes depicting 36 Bible stories - originally they were only depicting The Last Supper but it continued to grow! On loan (for the second time) to Evesham Methodist Church, it's on display until 5th June.
A group of us from St Matthew's had a very enjoyable outing to see it and marvel at the work that had been put into it. The knitters' hope was that viewers might discover a detail they'd forgotten or never noticed whilst learning more about God and His love for this world and its people.

We gathered on Saturday 16th May, on Newtown Green, Ronkswood, for the ancient festival of Rogation to seek God's blessing for our community and its sustenance. We brought sticks to 'beat the bounds' as we moved around the fields singing hymns and stopping at appropriate points to pray for the different sectors of the community - including the schools and colleges, the hospital, the community centre and shops - and we gave thanks for the land which sustains us.

It's a year since Revd Rob Farmer retired as our vicar. Here are some lovely photos of the farewell service, which for some reason were never shared online. One year on seems a good time to look back with gratitude for Rob's ministry among us, also giving thanks for where we are now, and looking forward to all that is to come. At the service held at Perry Wood School, attended by many friends from church, school and the wider community, we thanked Rob for his care, leadership and mission to engage with the Ronkswood community. We are so pleased that Revd Richard Wood is now cultivating the seeds sown by Rob whilst also evolving a new vision of ways to engage the community in developing the church site and making the church visible once more in the heart of Ronkswood. Watch this space for further updates!
