ECO CHURCH 10th ANNIVERSARY
Eco Church celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion four special services will take place across England and Wales. The first celebration service takes place on 16th May in Swansea, followed by services in Chelmsford and Liverpool, on Saturday 24 October it is Exeter’s turn with a service at Southernhay United Reformed Church. Pray for a time of blessing, celebration and shared experience, and for hope as people look to the future. Give thanks for churches in Devon taking action for nature and climate.

NO MOW MAY
No Mow May encourages people to let grass grow to support wildlife; so, when parts of our churchyard look unkept it is by design for wildlife. An uncut patch of grass can provide habitat for insects such as grasshoppers and spiders, which in turn support bird populations. Pray that more households, organisations and local authorities manage grassland in ways that benefit both wildlife and people. Please also pray for those taking part in Woolsery Churches Together’s Breakfast Walk on Thursday 4th June and the wildlife they see

Today we had the privilege of welcoming Chris Turner from Edukid, a Bideford‑based charity transforming children’s lives through education. Chris shared powerful, moving stories about the realities faced by young people in countries such as Peru, Cambodia and Uganda, and how Edukid works with schools here in the UK to build understanding, connection and hope.

We were also honoured to hear from Lily and Ruby Beer, who spoke with such emotion about their own Edukid trips to Uganda and the impact these experiences have had on their lives. Lily shared how meaningful it was to return a year later and see the difference education and support had made to the family she met.

After the service, Chris invited us to plant a seedling in a recycled tin can — a simple but beautiful reminder of how growth can begin anywhere, and how small acts can create real change.

Now, as Woolsery Churches Together, it’s our turn to reflect, talk, and consider how we can play our part in supporting this life‑changing work.

Thank you Edukid.org.uk - Education for a Brighter Future for enriching our lives this morning with knowledge of how we can help others around the world
