This year’s Corpus Christi Procession in Sheffield will be on Sunday 7th June, starting at 3.00pm from St Marie’s Cathedral. A poster is attached—please could you display it in a prominent place on your noticeboards, and also put details about the procession in your parish newsletter over the next few weeks?



The procession is a wonderful way to witness to our Catholic faith in Our Lord present in the Most Holy Eucharist, and absolutely everyone is welcome to attend. If any of the altar servers in your parish(es) would like to come and help out with the procession, they would be more than welcome. Any children who have recently made their First Holy Communion are especially encouraged to come and be with Our Lord on this special occasion in the Church’s year.

On Saturday 6th June, Our Lady of Guadalupe Relic image is visiting the Mother of God Church, Abbeydale Road. The day begins at 10 am with Holy Mass. This Relic has been declared as an Authorised Relic that extends the graces of evangelisation, conversion and truth to those who receive it. Followed in the afternoon by a Rethink Abortion Event led by Isabel Vaughan-Spruce and the team.

THE WE BELIEVE FESTIVAL
For context: Last year we held the first WeBelieve festival at Oscott seminary, over 4 days in July. It was a grassroots project that a (very small!) group of us set up to support Catholic life in the UK. There was so much generosity from Catholic initiatives here in the UK (over 120 contributed to the timetable!) along with various rites of Catholic liturgy, and a range of musicians, artists and religious congregations. (There is a beautiful short video of it here).

We had over 500 reviews (from the 2200 attendees) that were remarkably positive. There was something for 'everyone in the pews' -of all ages and stages of the faith journey. This was key for us: that this could be a support to the mission of parish priests. To offer an opportunity that could form, engage and encourage the faith life of their parishioners through the many expressions and interests they have.
